Abstract

The sources of classical Arabic literature devoted many pages for the humoristic narratives that occured in the Umayyad and Abbasid periods. One of the preeminent figures of Muslim humor and as a historical personage, Ibn Ebu 'Atik, introduces us with some examples of the anecdotal narrations which the early Muslim generations produce. This article aims to study his epigrammatic materails both in theme and topic, some of which have an immoralist shade.
