İslam’ın devletler arası güç ve güvenlik ilişkilerine bakışı: Bir realizm eleştirisi

Abstract

Tez Batı-merkezli uluslararası ilişkilerin modern kodlarını sorgulamayı ve yapı sökümüne uğratmayı hedeflemektedir. Bir başka anlatımla, uluslararası ilişkilerin en temel gündemini oluşturan "güç" ve "güvenlik" olgularının disiplinin modern kalıpları içinde nasıl tanımlandığını ve okunduğunu, hangi açılardan sorunlu olduğunu ve İslami referanslarla bunu aşmanın yolunun ne(ler) olabileceğini tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Dolayısıyla tez, disiplinin yerleşik Batı-merkezli kurgusunu ve tanımlanmış epistemolojik ve ontolojik temellerini meşgul etmeyi, kendi alternatifi ile onu tartışmaya açacak bir çalışma alanı sunarak uluslararası ilişkilere Batı-dışı bir entelektüel sahadan katkı sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu bağlamda tezde hem hermönitik yöntem hem de tarihsel sosyolojik bir yöntemin kullanılmış olması sebebiyle yöntemsel çoğulculuğu benimsemiştir. Tezin ortaya koyduğu şey ise "ahlakiliğin" uluslararası ilişkiler aktörleri için bir seçenek/alternatif değil; uluslararası ilişkilerin ön koşulu olduğudur.

The thesis aims to question and deconstruct the modern codes of Western-oriented international relations. In other words, it aims to determine how the phenomena of "power" and "security", which constitute the most fundamental agenda of international relations, are defined and read within the modern patterns of the discipline, in what ways they are problematic, and what the way(s) can be to overcome this with Islamic references. Therefore, the thesis aims to engage the established Western-centered fiction of the discipline and its defined epistemological and ontological foundations, and to contribute to international relations from a non-Western intellectual world by offering a field of study that will open it up to discussion with its own alternative. In this context, the thesis adopted methodological pluralism as both a hermenitic method and a historical sociological method were used. What the thesis reveals is that "morality" is not an option/alternative for international relations actors; it is a prerequisite for international relations.
