IS-LM modeline alternatif olarak BMW modeli: Enflasyon hedeflemesi altında şoklara yönelik politika tepkilerinin analizi
(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2009) Özdemir, Metin; Uludağ Üniversitesi/İktisat İdare Bilimler Fakültesi/İktisat Bölümü.
The IS-LM model remains the workhorse model of teaching in most macroeconomics textbooks. Despite its pervasive use, the IS-LM model has been seriously criticized and is far removed from the practice of inflation-targeting central banks. However, modern macroeconomics is based on the New Neoclassical Synthesis-DSGE (Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium) models which are considered itself as a core model in macroeconomics. For that reason, in the past twenty years, the gap between macroeconomics research and textbooks has grown wider. One of the attempts to bridge this gap is the BMW model which deals explicitly with the implications of the New Neoclassical-DSGE models and offers important advantages with a graphical analysis toolkit over the well known IS-LM model. The aim of this paper is to analyze the policy reactions of inflation targeting central banks to the shocks by presenting the BMW model which is treated as an alternative to the IS-LM model.

Although, it is assumed that everyone has rights of a healthy life, many people, particularly poor people can’t access to health services. The purpose of this work is to show the dimensions of health inequities in Turkey. Especially poor people can’t use health services as much as they need to be a healthy life in Turkey. Important issues are in regional differences. Health inequities not only exist in east region where poverty is common, but also in west region where poverty is deep. Both regions takes less of values of health expenditure shares according to there populations shares. Also, the health indicators are worse because of geographical and cultural access barriers in rural areas and especially in east region.

Uluslararası alanda polisiye işbirliğinin gelişimi: Avrupa örneği
(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2009) Kaya, Sezgin; Uludağ Üniversitesi/İktisat İdare Bilimler Fakültesi/Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü.
In contemporary world, international relations’ prevalent character, contrary to the expectations, is not conflict but cooperation. For states’ cooperation, a set of subjects like to decrease costs, to increase efficiency or to struggle against common threats can be effective. However, it must be accepted that states’ willingness to make cooperation may not be at the same level in almost all issues. It is seen that states are less willing to make cooperation especially in security issues. This is the fundamental reason of the fact that international police cooperation has not reached to the desired levels yet. The region where international police cooperation exists most intensively is Europe. As a result of a long and slow-moving process, European nations have taken a set of initiatives that enable and facilitate police cooperation among their selves. Doubtlessly, the sphere of mutual trust that the European integration process had created has also made a significant contribution for this. The developments that occurred after the establishment of European Union are especially important for police cooperation in Europe that had reached its eventual form in the framework of Europol. In this study the legal and institutional developments that contribute to this process are analysed.
