Item Bursa'da 1988-1996 yılları arasında incelenen köpek tümörleri(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1996) Sönmez, Gürsel; Özmen, Özlem; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi.In this survey, a total of 89 tumors from dogs with different breed, age and sex were examined in the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Uludag from January 1988 to October 1996. The tumors were the most frequently encountered in the female genital system (47. 2 %), followed by cutaneous (20.3 %), male genital system (1 9.1 %) and alimentary system (5. 6 %) respectively. Transmissible venereal tumor was the most common tumor and was detected in thirty-one (34.8%) out of 89 dogs.Item Deri lezyonu şikayeti ile getirilen ve sağlıklı olan köpeklerde serum çinko düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve karşılaştırılması(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1996) Işımer, Aşkın; Aydın, Ahmet; Aytuğ, Nilüfer; Çetin, Meltem; Kırkpınar, Arzu; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi.A total of 69 dogs, 56 of them had skin lesions and the rest were healty, were used as material. The concentration of zinc in serum was determinated using atomic absorbtion spectrophotometry. Dogs with skin lesions diagnosed as flea allergy (n=l2); allergic dermatitis (n= 12); demodicosis (n= 15); dermatomycosis (n=5) and nonspecific dermatozis (n= 12). Mean concentration of zinc in serum was determinated as; 15.04 f.llnollml; 17.62 pmollml; 16.06 pmollml; 18.87 pmol/ml; 17.44 pmol/ml ve 9.86 pmollml respectively in flea allergy, allergic dermatitis, demodicosis , dermatomycosis, nonspesific dermatosis and healty dogs. Serum zinc concentration was significantly higher than in healty dogs. There were no significant variations between the dogs in different skin disease groups.Item Endotoksemili köpeklerde izotonik, hipertonik ve hipertonik+ izotonik sodyum klorur solusyonlarının etkileri(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1996) Batmaz, Hasan; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi.In this study, effects of isotonic saline solution (JSS-0.9 %), hypertonic saline solution (HSS-7. 2 %) and HSS+ISS were compared in 15 dogs with endotoxemia, which had been formed experimentally. E. coli lypopolysaccarid (E. coli 055: B5-Difco) was given i.v. at a dose of0.3 mglkg in order to induce endotoxemia. After endotoxemia induced, first and second group of dogs receivediSS (32 mglkg, n=5), HSS (4 mllkg, n=5), respectively. In third group, ISS (1 5 mllkg) was given at 75th minutes following HSS (4 mllkg, n=5) administration. All dogs were examined for some parameters before experiment, just after being formed endotoxemia, and at 5th and 30th minutes, and 2nd, 6 th and 24 th hours during fluid therapy. Parameters examined were temperature, heart and respiration rate, capillary filling time (CFI'), quality of peripheral pulsation, hematocrit, hemoglobin, erythrocyte, MCV, MCH, MCHC, total leucocyte, thrombocyte, serum total protein, Na and Cl levels. In addition, plasma volume was also calculated using hematocrit and hemoglobin values. After administration of the solutions in all the groups, increasing in plasma volume, and improvement of the CFI' and quality of peripheral pulsation were observed. When compared with the other two groups, increasing in plasma volume, and shortening in CFI' together with improvement of peripheral pulsation quality (P < 0. 0 1) were determined in the HSS+ ISS group at the 2nd and 6th hours of the trial. After HSS and ISS administration in HSS +ISS group, increasing in Na concentration was determined (P < 0.001). Cl concentration increased following HSS administration in HSS (P < 0.01) and HSS+ISS (P < 0.05) groups. However, adverse, effect ofhypernatremi was not seen. It was determined that administration ofHSS at 118 rate of that oJISS showed similar effect to that of ISS. Finally, it was observed that HSS would be firstly used alone in order to regulate plasma volume and tissue perfusion in endotoxemia cases. In addition, it was also seen that isotonic crystalloid fluids could be used to maintain the effect of HSS.Item Kurt ve kangal ırkı köpeklerin taze ve sulandırılmış spermalarının spermatolojik ozellikleri ve viabilitesi üzerinde araştırmalar(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1996) Büyükçoban, M. Kemal; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi.In the present study, it is aimed to investigate the spermatological characteristics and the viability of fresh and diluted semen of German Shepherd Dogs and Kangal Dogs comparatively. For this aim, eight German Shepherd Dogs and eight Kangal Dogs, bred in Gemlik Military Research Training Center Commandary, were used. Semen was collected by digital manipulation. Collected semen samples were examined for volume, motility, spermatozoid concentration, percentages of abnormal, dead, acrosome defected spermatozoids and pH. The averages of the mentioned characteristics of German Shepherd Dogs and Kangal Dogs were found 3.32 ml, % 80.80, 393. 70x1rl!ml, % 1 3.08, % 2.98, % 2.29 and 6.34; 3.65 m/, % 72.01, 335.20x1rl!ml, %10.00, %2.93, %1.78and6.05, respectively. Semen samples were diluted with Tris + Glucose + Citric acid + Egg Yolk {T-YS) and Sodiumdihydrogenphosphate + Glycin + Glucose + Egg Yolk (SDHP-YS) diluents and cooled to +4°C for viability examination, and examined at 12 hours interval until the motility ended. Motility was ended on 108th and 36th hours for semen diluted with T-YS ahd SDHP-YS diluents, respectively.Item Trichurs vulpis ve uncinaria stenocephala ile dogal enfekte köpeklerde bazı hematolojik değerler(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1996) Cengiz, Fahrünisa; Okursoy, Semra; Galip, Nurten; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi.Trichuris vulpis and Uncinaria stenocephala eggs were detected in feaces samples of9 dogs captured in Bursa area. Blood samples of dogs were analyzed for hematocrit, sedimentation and hemoglobin concentration, erythrocyte, leucocyte and eozinophil counts and differentia/leucocyte count. The hematocrit was found as % 37.56, the number of erythrocyte 5. 76x1 rl/mm3 and hemoglobin concentration 12.44 g/1 00 m/ respectively. Total number of leucocyte was 12.26x1oJ/mm3 , and the average number of eozinofil 9061mm3 . The ratio of eozinophils were 13 % in the differential leucocyte count.
