Item The place of "the fifth meditation" in the philosophy of Descartes(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2005) Kabadayı, Taliplt Strikes me that it is vital to figure out the position of "the fifth meditation" in Descartes' philosophical system because the ontological argument set forth there by him is very convenient for Descartes to prove the existence of God, since in his argument for God's existence he should not use any premise to which refer material world. I can say that Descartes demonstrates the necessary existence of God since without the knowledge of God, no other forms of knowledge could be possible. In other words, in Descartes"s philosophy, knowledge is possible because God is necessary. In this paper, it is aimed at analyzing and clarifying this problem so that we can determine the place of the fifth meditation in Descartes philosophical system.
