Item Composition of essential oil of artemisia indica(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2014-07-04) Kazemi, MohsenThe hydrodistillation essential oil from Artemisia indica growing in Iran was analyzed by GC/MS. In all 20 compounds were identified; a-pinene (3%), camphene (2.12%), b-pinene (2.01%), a-phellandrene(1.05%), p-cymene (1.15%), limonene (0.5%), 1,8- cineole (0.65%), artemisia ketone (21.34%), a-thujone (0.7%), a-thujone (1%), myrtenol (%0.56), camphor (6.54%), borneol (8.07%), terpinen-4-ol (2.76%), nerol (1.45%), carvone (0.67%), chrysanthenyl acetate (10.6%), (e)-caryophyllene (1.45%), bhimachalene (1%) and germacrene-B (10%) were the main components of the oil.Item Effect of gibberellic acid and potassium nitrate spray on vegetative growth and reproductive characteristics of tomato(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2014-01-19) Kazemi, MohsenA study was carried out to investigate the effect of 2 levels of gibberellic acid (10-4 and 10-8 ) and 2 levels of potassium nitrate (6 and 8 mM) spray on the growth, leaf-NPK content, yield and quality parameters of tomato. The application of gibberellic acid and potassium alone or in combination increased plant height, number of branches, number flowers per cluster, number fruits per cluster and faster fruit growth in addition to increasing fruit number, fruit firmness, weight and yield. The chlorophyll content, leafNPK content, blossom end rot and nitrate reductase activity were not affected by application of GA3 alone or in combination, but K application alone significant decreased blossom end rot while increasing leaf-NPK content, chlorophyll content and nitrate reductase activity. With regard to fruit quality, the application of GA3 at 10-8 mM, 8 mM potassium nitrate and 10-8 mM GA3+ 8 mM potassium nitrate increased fruit lycopene content, total soluble solids, vitamin C and titratable acidity compared with the control treatment. From this study, it can be concluded that spraying with gibberellic acid and potassium alone or in combination increased vegetative growth and reproductive characteristics of tomato.Item Effects of Nano- salicylate on quality and quantity of wssential oil components in Trachyspermum copticum(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2016-03-31) Kazemi, Mohsen; Mokhtariniya, ShahinThe effect of application of nano- salicylate (2 and 3 mM) on components of essential oils (EOs) of Trachyspermum copticum was evaluated. The nano-salicylate increased α-pinene, γ-terpinene, thymol and carvacrol and decreased β-myrcene, p-cymene, β phellendrene, 4-terpineol, cis limonene oxide, dodecane, β-fenchyl alcohol, ethylene methacrylate and pentadecane concentration. Among the three T. copticum extracts, T. copticum treated with 3 mM nano salicylate showed the highest total phenolic content (176.94±58 mg/g) and showed the highest total flavonoid content (200.76±34 mg/g).Item Essential oil constituents of Nigella sativa from Iran(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2016-03-30) Mokhtariniya, Shahin; Kazemi, MohsenThe essential oil of Nigella sativa L. collected from Kurdistan Mountain, Iran, was obtained by hydrodistillation. The oil was analyzed by chromatography/mass spectrophotometry (GC/MS). P-cymene (40.7%) and thymoquinone (20.32%) were the major components of the essential oil from Nigella sativa L.Item Influence of foliar application of 5-sulfosalicylic acid, malic acid, putrescine and potassium nitrate on vegetative growth and reproductive characteristics of Strawberry cv. ‘Selva’(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2013-08-14) Kazemi, MohsenIn order to study the effect of foliar application of 5-sulfosalicylic acid, malic acid, putrescine and potassium nitrate on vegetative growth and reproductive characteristics of strawberry cv. Selva as a factorial experiment in a completely randomized design with 4 replications which the factors included 5-sulfosalicylic acid at three levels (0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 mM), malic acid at three levels (1.5, 2.5 and 5 mM), putrescine at two levels (1 and 2 mM) and potassium nitrate at two levels (1 and 2 %). As result has shown 5sulfosalicylic acid at 2.5 mM and potassium nitrate at 2% concentration increased vegetative growth (dry weight, leaf area, length of roots), number of flowers, and weight of primary and secondary. 5-sulfosalicylic acid at 2.5 mM and malic acid at 5 mM of increased total phenolics, flavonoids, and non-flavonoids of strawberry but other treatments did not have a significant impact on this characteristic. The highest percentage of total soluble solids, titratable acidity and ascorbic acid was attained in fruits treated with 2.5 mM of foliar 5-sulfosalicylic acid and the lowest, was achieved in controlItem Volatile constituents of essential oils isolated from flowers and leaves of M.officinalis L.(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2014-08-15) Kazemi, Mohsen; Esmaili, FarshidVolatile components of leaves of Melissa officinalis L. (Lamiaceae family) from Iran were investigated. Essential oils were isolated by hydrodistillation from leaves of Melissa officinalis. Twenty-one constituents in the leaves oil were identified. Major constituents of the leaves oil were: trans-b-ocimene (4.5%), citronellal (3.21%), cadinol isomer (3.45%), neral (4.32%), geranial (8%), bcaryophyllene (16%), b-cubebene (10.21), calarene (4.32%), b-cadinene (4%), sesquiterpene alcohol (10.43%) and a-cadinol(9.05%). However, there were significant differences among the rates of those reported components. In conclusion, it is worthwhile to screen the commonly used plants from the local flora for different biological activities because they might present a new alternative source for possible bioactive substances.
