dc.description.abstractTip 2 diyabet; insülin salgılanmasında ve/veya insülinin etkisinde bozulmaya bağlı olarak hiperglisemi tablosu ile seyreden metabolik bir hastalıktır Bu çalışmada; Wistar türü erkek sıçanlar, Kontrol (K), Kontrol+ Teucrium polium ekstresi (K+ TPE), Diyabet (D), Diyabet+ Teucrium polium ekstresi (D+TPE) olmak üzere rastgele kendi aralarında dört gruba ayrıldı. Tip 2 diyabet; streptozotosin (tek doz 65mg/kg) + nikotinamid (tek doz 45mg/kg) intraperitoneal olarak enjeksiyonuyla oluşturuldu. K+TPE ve D+TPE gruplarının içme sularına 21 gün süre ile %5 oranında Teucrium polium L. bitki ekstresi eklendi. Sıçanların kan glikozu ve oksidanantioksidan sistemler üzerine olan etkisi araştırıldı. D+TPE grubu sıçanlarda kan glikoz, trigliserit (TG), total kolesterol (TK), plazma ve doku malondiadehit (MDA) düzeylerinde, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı azalma saptandı. Aynı zamanda K+TPE grubunda, süperoksit dismutaz (SOD) ve glutatyon peroksidaz (GSH-Px) düzeylerinde ve paraoksonaz (PON1) ve arilesteraz (ARE) enzim aktivitelerinde anlamlı artış, yine D+TPE grubunda da arilesteraz aktivitelerinde anlamlı artış saptandı. Sonuç olarak; streptozotosin- nikotinamid ile Tip 2 diyabet oluşturulmuş sıçanlarda T. polium ekstraktının antihiperglisemik, antihiperlipidemik etkiye sahip olduğu saptandı. K+TPE ve D+TPE grubunda da antioksidan enzim aktivitelerinde anlamlı artış sebebiyle T. polium'un antioksidan olarak diyabetin neden olduğu oksidatif stres tablosunu iyileştirme yönünde olumlu etkiye sahip olduğu saptandı.tr_TR
dc.description.abstractType 2 diabetes; it is a metabolic disease with hyperglycemia due to deterioration of insulin secretion and / or effect of insulin. In this study; male of Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups as Control (C), Control + Teucrium polium L. extract (C + TPE), Diabetes (D), Diabetes + Teucrium polium L. extract (D + TPE). Type 2 diabetes were formed by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (single dose 65mg / kg) + nicotinamide (45mg / kg). Teucrium polium L. plant extract a rate of %5 was added to drinking water of C + TPE and D + TPE groups for 21 days. The effects of rats on blood glucose and oxidantantioxidant systems were investigated. Blood glucose, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), plasma and tissue malondiadehit (MDA) levels were significantly decreased in D + TPE rats. At the same time, significant increase in superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) levels and paraoxonase (PON1) and arylesterase (ARE) enzyme activities were observed in C + TPE group and arylesterase activities in D + TPE group. Finally in this study; it was determined that T. polium extract had antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemic effects in streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced diabetic rats. It was also found that T. polium had positive effect on improving oxidative stress caused by diabetes as antioxidant due to significant increase in antioxidant enzyme activities in both C + TPE and D + TPE groups.tr_TR
