Abstract
Mardin şehri; çok uzun yıllardan beri, pek çok devletin hâkimiyeti altına girmiş, çok sayıda uygarlığa ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Kentin tarihsel süreçte, farklı etnik kökene sahip bireyleri bünyesinde barındırması dolayısıyla, Mardin Kentsel Sit Alanı'nda; cami, medrese, kilise, manastır gibi pek çok ibadet yapısı bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Mardin Kentsel Sit Alanındaki ibadet yapılarında, yapı malzemesi kullanım biçimlerinin incelenmesi ve malzemenin sorunlarının tespit edilmesidir. Çalışma beş bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde konuyla ilgili bir giriş yapılmış; çalışmanın amacı, önemi, sınırlılıklarından bahsedilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Mardin ilinin tarihi, coğrafi konumu ve topografya yapısından bahsedilmiş; sosyokültürel, ekonomik ve fiziksel yapısı hakkında genel bilgiler verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde materyal ve yöntem açıklanmıştır. Çalışmanın materyalini, Mardin Kentsel Sit Alanında bulunan ibadet yapıları oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada literatür araştırması, gözlem yoluyla tespit ve fotoğrafla belgeleme yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Yöntem bölümünde, alan çalışmasına esas oluşturan; yapı malzemesi türleri, yapı elemanı bazında malzeme kullanımları ve malzeme sorunlarına ilişkin sınıflandırmalar açıklanmıştır. Dördüncü bölüm olan bulgular kısmında; Mardin Kentsel Sit Alanında bulunan ibadet yapılarında malzeme kullanım ve sorunları, yöntem bölümünde açıklanan sınıflandırmalar dahilinde, çizelgeler ile desteklenerek açıklanmıştır. Sonuç bölümünde tüm yapılardan elde edilen bilgiler malzeme sorunları bağlamında birbirleriyle karşılaştırılmış ve yapılar için önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında yapıda kullanılan doğal yapı malzemelerinde düzeyleri farklılaşan çeşitli sorunlar tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen sorunların yapı elemanlarına göre dağılımları incelendiğinde; en fazla sorunun yapının taş duvarlarında olduğu söylenebilmektedir. Yapının duvar ve ayaklarında yüzey kaybı, oyuklanma, çatlak, yüzey kirliliği, çiçeklenme, bitki oluşumu ve hatalı onarımlar gibi sorunlar dikkati çekmektedir. Ahşap malzemeden üretilmiş pencere ve kapı doğramalarında ise göze çarpan sorunlar mekanik aşınma ve çatlak oluşumudur. Çalışma kapsamında yapılan incelemeler sonucunda, Mardin ibadet yapılarının en kısa sürede genel bir bakım ve onarım sürecinden geçirilmesi gerektiği kanısına varılmıştır. Sorunların boyutlarına bağlı olarak her bir yapı elemanının ayrıca değerlendirilmesi ve uygun bakım / sağlamlaştırma / onarım yönteminin seçilmesi gereklidir.
The Mardin city has been under the domination of many states and has hosted many civilizations for many years. Because of the city that contain within itself different ethnic roots individuals in the historical process, there are many worship structures such as mosque, madrasah, church, monastery in Mardin Urban Site. The purpose of this study is to examine the usage forms of building materials and to determine the problems of the material in worship structures in Mardin Urban Site. The study consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, an introduction on the subject is made; the purpose of study, its importance and limitations are mentioned. In the second chapter, the history, geographical position and topographic pattern of Mardin city are mentioned; general information is given about its socio-cultural, economical and physical structure. In the third chapter, material and method are explained. The material of the study constitutes the worship structures in the Mardin Urban Site. Literature research, detection through observation and photographic documentation methods are used in the study. In the method section, the types of building materials that are the basis for field study, material uses on the basis of building elements, and the classifications related to material problems are explained. In the fourth section, findings; the use of materials and problems in the worship places in the Mardin Urban Site are explained by supporting the charts within the scope of the classifications explained in the method section. In the conclusion section, the information obtained from all the structures is compared with each other in terms of material problems and suggestions for the structures are made. Within the scope of the study, various problems are identified at different levels in the natural building materials used in structures. When the distribution of identified problems according to construction elements is examined, it can be said that the most structural problem is on the stone walls of structures. It is draw attention that problems such as surface loss, pitting, cracks, surface pollution, flowering, plant formation and inappropriate repairs on the walls and feet of the structures. The problems encountered in timber window and door profiles are mechanical weathering and crack formation. As a result of the studies carried out within the scope of the study, it is concluded that the Mardin worship structures should be subjected to a general maintenance and repair process as soon as possible. Depending on the size of the problems, each construction element must be evaluated separately and the appropriate maintenance / reinforcement / repair method must be selected.
