Abstract
Arılar, önemli çiçek ziyaretçisi ve çeşitli bitkilerin tozlayıcısıdır. Arılar tarafından tozlaşma sebze türlerinin üretimi için gereklidir. Kendine döllenen sebzelerin örtü altı ve -açıkta yetiştiriciliğinde optimum tozlaşma ve döllenme ürünün verim, kalite ve erken olgunlaşma gibi özelliklerini artırmaktadır. Tozlayıcı olarak bal arıları ve bombus arıları, ticari hibrit tohum üretiminde de yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Yabancı döllenen sebzelerde döllenme, dolayısı ile meyve ve tohum gelişimi için polenlerin erkek çiçeklerden dişi çiçeğe taşınması gerekir. Bu bitkilerde tozlaşmanın neredeyse tamamı arılar tarafından gerçekleştirilmektedir. Yabancı döllenen bitkilerde arılarının kullanılması, verimin maksimize edilmesinde en etkili ve çevre dostu yaklaşım olarak kabul edilmektedir.
Pollination is the first step in assuring fertilization, and the most important factor in determining product amounts. It also affects fruit shape and size. Bees are important flower visitors, and are pollinators of various plants. Pollination by bees is necessary for the production of vegetable varieties, and appropriate pollination is closely related to individual vegetative production, as well as vegetable quality. The tomato, pepper and eggplant, which belong to Solanaceae family, are fertilize themselves. In these vegetables, the formation and development of flowers, pollination and fertilization events affect the quality and quantity of the product. Even in vegetables that fertilize themselves, more products can be obtained by cross-pollination. In this context, bees are necessary as additional pollinators for the formation of both the fruits and seeds.
