İlköğretim sekizinci sınıf fen ve teknoloji dersi genetik ünitesindeki kavram yanılgılarının giderilmesinde grafik materyallerin etkisi

Abstract
Son yıllarda fen eğitimi alanında yapılan çalışmalar çoğunlukla öğrencilerin sahip oldukları kavram yanılgılarının tespiti ve giderilmesi üzerine yoğunlaşmaktadır. Bu çalışma ilköğretim sekizinci sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersi “Genetik” konusundaki kavram yanılgılarının tespiti ve bu yanılgıların anlam çözümleme tabloları, kavram ağları, kavram haritaları gibi grafik materyaller kullanılarak giderilmesinin geleneksel yönteme göre etkililiğinin incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğrencilerde var olan kavram yanılgılarının tespiti için daha önce konunun işlendiği lise birinci sınıf öğrencileri ile sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerine açık uçlu sorular yöneltilmiş ve kavram yanılgıları tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerle ve gerekli literatür taramasından sonra konuyla ilgili test hazırlanmış ve Erzurum ilinde bir ilköğretim okulunda deney ve kontrol grubuna ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. “Genetik” ünitesinin öğretimi, deney grubunda grafik materyaller kullanılarak, kontrol grubuna ise geleneksel öğretim yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin başarı seviyeleri arasındaki farkı belirlemek amacıyla t-testi yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda istatistiksel olarak deney grubunun kontrol grubuna göre daha başarılı olduğu görülmüştür.
Recent studies on science education have mostly emphasized upon the studies which will be carried out for determining and overcoming misconceptions of students related with this field. This study has been conducted to investigate, analyze and prove the fact that determining misconceptions on genetic subject in primary school eight (8 th) grade science education lesson and overcoming such misconceptions by using graphic such as meaning/content analysis tables, concept nets, concept maps is more functional than the traditional method. Open-ended questions were asked to high school first (1 st) and third (3 rd) grade students who have previously taken this course in order to determine the existence of such misconceptions have been determined. After obtaining data and scanning necessary literature a test about the lesson was prepared and applied to bath experimental and control groups as pre-test and past-test of a primary school. The subject of genetic was given to the experiment group by using graphic materials such as meaning/content analysis tables, concept nets and concept maps but it was given to the control group by using traditional method. t-test was applied to both groups in order to determine the difference in success levels of both groups’ students. As a result, it was statistically found that experiment group is more successful than control group.
