Abstract

National parks are both ecological and tourism richness of a country. Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park is one of European largest and most important park and located on the territories of Belarus and Poland. The portion of the park in the territory of Belarus is very large and it is 150 069 ha, whereas its portion in the territory of Poland is very small - 10 502 ha. The National Park that has the oldest natural forests in Europe was declared as the Biosphere Conservation Area in 1993 within the framework of UNESCO 'Human and Biosphere' program. In the present study, climate, landforms, flora and fauna characteristics of the Belovezhska Pushcha National Park have been investigated and its ecological potential has been discussed.
