Mübadele öncesi ve sonrası Bursa’nın sosyo- ekonomik yapısı üzerine bir değerlendirme

Abstract

Büyük Mübadele sonucu, Bursa yöresinden giden 120.000 Rum ve Ermeni’nin yerine 40.000 göçmen iskan edilmiştir. Bu bölgeye yerleşen insanlar şehrin sosyo-ekonomik yapısını etkilemişlerdir. Bu değişiklikler aşağıda kategorize edilmiştir. 1. Bursa’nın nüfusu, Rum ve Ermenilerin dış göçü, Müslüman nüfusun iç göçünden dolayı, din ve etnik açıdan homojen bir yapıya bürünmüştür. 2. Yeni gelenler nüfus, ticaret ve endüstri ile uğraşan Rum ve Ermenilere nazaran tarımla uğraşıyorlardı. Böylelikle yeni gelen insanlar büyük oranda tarımsal arazileri doldurdu. Bazılarına iş gücü sağlanarak ticaret ve endüstri alanlarına yöneltildi. 3. Bu nüfus değişiminden sonra, Bursa kültürel açıdan homojen bir görüntüye sahip oldu.

As a result of the Great Exchange, 40.000 immigrants were settled in place of 120.000 Greek and Armenian coming from Bursa region. These people had the following influences on the social-economic structure of the city: 1. The population of Bursa was homogenized in respect of religion and ethnicity because of the out-migration of the Greeks and Armenians and in-migration of the Moslem people. 2. The new comers were mostly agrarian in contrast to the Greeks and Armenians who were occupied in commerce and industry most of the time. Therefore, the exchanged people filled the gap in the agricultural sector to a great extent, however, they partly filled the gap in commerce and industry by providing work force 3. After the settlement of the exchanged people, Bursa, like its population had a homogen appearance culturally.
