Abstract
Uluslararası ilişkiler alanında Morton A. Kaplan, varsayımsal nitelikte altı alternatif uluslararası sistem modeli ortaya koymuştur. Bunlar, güç dengesi, gevşek iki kutuplu, sıkı iki kutuplu, evrensel, hiyerarşik ve birim veto sistemleridir. Kaplan, global uluslararası sistemde Oltaya çıkan gelişmeleri dikkate alarak daha sonraki çalışmalarında iki kutuplu veya birim veto sistemlerinin değişik şekilleri olarak düşünülebilecek dört uluslararası sistem modeli daha geliştirmiştir. Kaplan, her sistem modeli için geçerli olduğunu varsaydığı beş değişken seti öngörmektedir. Bunlar, (1) temel kurallar, (2) değişim kuralları, (3) aktör sınıflandırıcı değişkenler,( 4) kapasite değişkenleri ve (5) haberleşme değişkenleridir.
In the study of international relations Morton A. Kaplan constructed six alternative models of hypothetical international systems: the balance of power, loose bipolar;, tight bipolar, universal, hierarchical and unit veto systems. Considering the developments in the global international system Kaplan, in his ensuing works, identified four other models which may be considered either variations of the loose bi-polar system or of the unit veto system. Within each model he developed five sets of variables: essential nıles, transformation nıles, actor classificatory variables, ca-pability variables and information variables.
