Problem tabanlı öğrenme yöntemine göre tasarlanan veri tabanı yönetim sistemleri dersine ilişkin öğrenci görüşleri: Uludağ Üniversitesi örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı problem tabanlı öğrenme yöntemi ile desteklenmiş bir öğrenme ortamı tasarlamak ve bu sürece ilişkin öğrenci görüşlerini elde etmektir. Bu kapsamda Veri Tabanı Yönetim Sistemleri dersi iki hafta boyunca problem tabanlı öğrenme yöntemine göre işlenmiştir. Çalışma grubu Uludağ Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılında Bilgisayar Ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Öğretmenliği Bölümünde öğrenim gören ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinden meydana gelmektedir. Dolayısıyla bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu her iki oturuma da katılım gösteren 25 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması deseni benimsenmiştir. Öğrencilerden yapılandırılmış gözlem ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları aracılığıyla veri elde edilmiştir. Gözlem ve görüşmelerden elde edilen verilere betimsel analiz uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre öğrenciler problem tabanlı öğrenme uygulamalarından genel olarak memnun kalmıştır ve sürece ilişkin görüşleri olumludur.

The purpose of this study is to design a learning environment supported by problem based learning method and obtain student opinions on this process. In this context, Database Management Systems course has been studied according to problem based learning method for two weeks. The study group takes place in Uludag University Faculty of Education at the Department of Teaching Computer and Instructional Technologies in the academic year of 2014-2015. Therefore, the study group of this study is composed of 25 participants in both sessions. In the research, the case study have been adopted as a qualitative research pattern. Data were gathered from students through structured observation and semi-structured interview forms. Descriptive analysis was applied to the data obtained from observations and interviews. According to the results of the analysis of the data, students are generally satisfied with problem-based learning practices and their views on the process are acceptable.
