Abstract
Felsefi metinlerde dişilin izlerini süren Fransız feminist düşünür Luce Irigaray, unutulmuş ve bastırılmış öteki öğe olarak annenin, Batı medeniyetinin kurumsal olarak düzenlenen tüm pratiklerde bir ön koşul olduğunu iddia eder. Çalışmalarında Platon’a ve onun kavramlarına gönderme yapan Irigaray, sistemin dışına atılmış olan dişilin, eril ve söz merkezli Batı metafiziğin yapısı içerisinde başından beri mevcut olduğu gerçeğini ifşa etmeye çalışır. Bu makalede Irigaray’ın Platon’un Devlet diyaloğundaki mağara benzetmesi, Şölen’deki Diotima (kadın) figürü ve Timaios’taki “khora” kavramına ilişkin yaptığı analizler üzerinden, dişil ve felsefe arasındaki ilişki ile dişilin felsefe tarihindeki bastırılmış/unutulmuş içkin rolü ele alınacaktır.
The French feminist philosopher Luce Irigaray, who trails the feminine traces in philosophical texts, suggests that the mother as the other ([m]other) forgotten and repressed element is precondition for all institutionally organized practices of Western civilization. Irigaray tries to disclosure the fact that the feminine that was thrown out of the system exists within the structure of masculine and logocentric Western metaphysics from the beginning. In this article, the relationship between the feminine and philosophy and the repressed and forgotten role of the feminine in the history of philosophy will be studied through Irigaray’s analysis about Plato’s cave allegory in the Republic, the feminine figure of Diotima (woman) in the Symposium and the concept of “khora” in the Timaeus.
