Abstract
This research was carried out to determine the soil fertility levels in the Bursa province Brown Forest Great Group Soil. For this purpose, some physical and chemical properties were determined in the 28 soil samples taken from the research area representing the intended group soil. The research revealed that the soil samples were generally clay loam, sandy clay loam and clay textured, possessed a neutral or slightly alkaline (pH) reaction. The soil samples containing varying rates of calcarous were commonly rich in calcarous amount and yet there was no salinity problem. It was determined that the soils’ total N, available P and DTPA+TEA extractable Zn contents were generally at moderate level in this research result. The soils’ exchangeable K and DTPA+TEA extractable Fe contents were adequate, exchangeable Ca, Mg and DTPA+TEA extractable Mn, and Cu contents were at high level. According to the research results, 60.7 % of the soils contain insufficient organic matter.
