Abstract
Hz. Muhammed Peygamberlerin sonuncudur. Onun geleceği Tevrat ve İncil’de haber verilmiştir. Söz konusu kitaplarda en belirgin vasıfları arasında Ümmi ve beşer olması bulunur. Konuyla ilgili Kur’an Yüce Allah şöyle buyurmaktadır. “Yanlarındaki Tevrat ve İncil'de yazılı buldukları o elçiye, o ümmî Peygamber'e uyanlar (var ya), işte o Peygamber onlara iyiliği emreder kötülükleri yasaklar, onlara temiz şeyleri helâl, pis şeyleri haram kılar...” Âraf, 7/157) “De ki: Ben de ancak sizin gibi bir insanım. The Prophet Muhammad is the final prophet. It is described his coming in the Torah an the Gospel. In these sacred books, one of his charasterictics is his being mankind (or mortal) and illiterate. About this subject, The Exalted God has said in the Qur’ân: “Those who follow the messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul ...” (A’râf 7/157), “Say: I am only a mortal like you.
