Myndos-Asar Adası mimari kalıntılarının ışığında olası yapı program

Abstract

Karia kentlerinden birisi olan Myndos, günümüzde Muğla ili, Bodrum ilçesi, Gümüşlük beldesi sınırları içerisinde yer almaktadır. Antik kentin hemen karşısında konumlanan Asar / Tavşan Adası, kentin limanını korumak için oldukça önemli bir lokasyonda bulunur. Ada’da yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda ortaya çıkartılan yapı kalıntılarının bir bölümü, Klasik Dönem ve sonrasına tarihlendirilmektedir. Asar Adası’nın girişinde yer alan açıklık ve bazı mimari buluntular girişte bir propylon (?) olduğu fikrini destekler niteliktedir. Ayrıca adanın daha üst teraslarında “U” / “Π” formlu sunak yapısına ait olduğu düşünülen bir stylobat tespit edilmiştir. Bu alanda yapılan kazılar sayesinde Apollon Arkhegetes’e adanmış olduğu anlaşılan bir yazıt adada Apollon’a ait kült alanının varlığına işaret etmektedir. Detaylı çalışmalarımız kapsamında sunak ve propylon yapıları benzer örneklerle karşılaştırılarak olası yapılarla ilgili bazı mimari öneriler sunulmuştur.

Myndos, one of the Carian cities, is located within the borders of the province of Muğla, district of Bodrum, township of Gümüşlük today. Situated just across the ancient city, Asar / Tavşan Island is in a very important location to safeguard the city’s port. Some of the building remnants unearthed as a result of the research on the island are dated to the Classical Period and later. The clearing at the entrance of Asar Island and some architectural finds support the idea that there was a propylon(?) at the entrance. In addition, a stylobate, which is thought to belong to the “U” / “Π” formed altar structure, was found on the upper terraces of the island. Thanks to the excavations conducted in that area, an inscription, which was understood to be dedicated to Apollon Archegetes, points out the existence of a cult area belonging to Apollon on the island. Within the scope of the study, some architectural suggestions were presented about possible structures by comparing the altar and propylon (?) structures with similar examples.
