Bir kelam teorisi: Muvâfât

Abstract

Mümin olarak yaşayan bir kimse Allah katında gerçekte kâfir veya kâfir olarak hayatını sürdürmüş bir kimse de gerçekte bir mümin olarak değerlendirilebilir mi? Yahut da ömrünün belli bir bölümünü mümin olarak geçirmemiş bir kimse İslam’ı tercih ederek mümin olursa hayatının geri kalanında yaptığı itaat fiilleri ile ahiretini kurtarmış olur mu? Bu sorular kelam tarihinde teorik bir problem olarak ikinci hicri asırdan sonra tartışılmaya başlanmış ve bu çerçevede muvâfât adında bir teori geliştirilmiştir. Bu makale bu hususu konu edinecek ve anılan tarihten buyana teorinin aldığı şekli ve tartışılan hususları irdelemeye çalışacaktır.

Someone who lived throughout his life as a believer, can he be an infidel in the eyes of God? On the other hand, is it possible to regard as believer someone who lived as an infidel? Or if somebody converted to religion after infidelity, whether the good works he performed throughout rest of his life are adequate to save his next life or not? These questions began to be discussed in the history of Islamic theology after the second century A.H. and muwâfât doctrines was put forward in this context. This article deals with the development of the doctrines in question from this time and related issues under discussion.
