Tanzimat’tan Cumhuriyet’e Bursa kadın vakıfları (1839-1923)

Abstract

Vakıf sözcüğü Arapça olup, durdurmak, alıkoymak anlamlarını içerir. Bir diğer ifadesiyle vakıf, bir mülkü insanların faydası için süreklilik gösteren bir şekilde ayırmaktadır. Vakfın gaye ve amaçlarının belirlendiği resmi belgelere de “Vakfiye” denir. Vakfiyelerde; vakıf kuran kişinin adı, şanı, vakfedilen malların veya paranın miktarı, cinsi ve özellikleri, bunların geliri ile yapılacak işler belirtilir. Vakfın ilk defa ne zaman ortaya çıktığı kesin olarak bilinmemekle birlikte; İslam dini ile önem ve değer kazanmış bir kurumdur. Türkler, İslamiyeti din olarak seçtikten sonra bu kurum onlar için daha önemli hale gelmiştir. Kurdukları pek çok vakıf müessesesi ile topluma hizmet vermişlerdir. Tarihimizin her döneminde erkeğinin yanında yer alan Türk kadını, kurdukları vakıf müesseseleriyle sosyal, kültürel ve sağlık alanlarında yardımlaşma ve dayanışmanın sağlanmasında örnek olmuşlardır. Selçuklu’dan günümüze pek çok kadınımızın vakıf kurduğunu araştırdıkça öğreniyoruz. Ancak bu konuda yapılan araştırmaların yeterli olduğu söylenemez. Bu sebeple “Bursa Kadın Vakıfları” konusu seçilmiştir. Çalışmamızda belirtilen zaman sürecinde konu araştırılıp incelenecektir. The word foundation is in Arabic and includes the meaning of stop and abstinence. In other words, the foundation separates a property in a continuous manner fort he benefit of people. Official documents specifying the aims and objectives of the foundation are also called “Vakfiye''. In the deed of trust; the name of the person who established the foundation, the title, the amount, type and characteristics of the goods or money, their income and the work to be done are indicated. While it is not known exactly when the foundation first appeared; it is an institution that has gained importance with İslamic religion. After the Turks chose İslam as a religion, it became more important for them. They have served the community with many foundation institutions. The Turkish woman, who was with her man in every period of our history, was an example in the provision of solidarity and cooperation in the social, cultural and health fields with the foundation institutions they established. We learn from the Seljuks to present day that many of our women have established a foundation. However, it cannot be said that the studies conducted on this subject are sufficient. For this reason, Bursa Women Foundation was chosen. In our study, the subject will be researched and examined in the mentioned time period. Our article is formed by archive documents of General Directorate of Foundations.
