Abstract
Congenital solitary cysts of the liver and spleen are very rare. True cysts of these organs are commonly parasitic. Besides their rarity, congenital solitary cysts of the liver and spleen have several other features in common. isotopic, ultrasonic and tomographic scanning assist diagnosis in both conditions. In this paper we presented three symptomatic cases of congenital solitary cyst, one in the liver and two in the spleen. One of the splenic cysts was treated by partial splenectomy and the other by total splenectomy because of lack of the normal splenic tissue. Congenital hepatic cyst was treated by partial resection.
