Abstract
Şizensefali serebral kortikal gelişim patolojisi olup ventriküllerden korteks yüzeyine kadar derin bir yarığın tek ya da çift taraflı olarak oluşması ile karakterizedir. Olgumuzda 19’uncu gebelik haftasında korpus kallosum yokluğunun eşlik ettiği bilateral açık dudak şizensefali tespit edilmiştir. Literatürde intrauterin hayatta en erken haftada tanı alan olgu olması nedeni ile önem taşımaktadır. Şizensefali tanısı alan çocuklar çok değişken nörolojik sekellere sahiptirler. Ciddi konuşma ve zeka geriliği, spastik kuadriparezi ve gelişme geriliğine neden olmaktadır. Bu sebeple şizensefalinin prenatal tanısının nörogörüntüleme yöntemleri ile konulması aileye bebekte beklenen olası sekelleri anlatmak ve konsulte etmek açısından yardımcı olacaktır.
Schizencephaly is a disorder of cerebral cortical development characterized by a unilateral or bilateral full thickness clefts extending from the ventricle to the cortical surface. We report a case of 19 th week of fetus with a diagnosis of bilateral frontoparietal schizencephaly with open lips and corpus callosum agenesis. This case is the earliest schizencephalic fetus reported in English literature. Children with schizencephaly have variable neurological impairment such as poor intellectual and speech development, severe developmental delay with spastic quadriparesis. Therefore, prenatal neuroimaging may be helpful in identification of the defect and this will guide counseling parents what to expect with the development of their child.
