Abstract
Bu makalede, Tatlısu bölgesinden hareketle, Kıbrıs'taki dinî hayat ele alınmaktadır. Dinî hayat inanç, ibadet, dinin sosyal etkileri ve gelenekselleşmiş dinî davranışlar açısından tahlil edilirken; özellikle dindarlıkta cinsiyet, yaş, ekonomi ve Kıbrıslılık durumuna göre nasıl bir farklılaşma olduğu gözlem altına alınmaktadır. Yaşlan 15 ilâ 70 arasında değişen 200 kişiye, "Dinî Eğilim Ölçeği-I: İnanç ve İbadet" ve "Dinî Eğilim Ölçeği-II: Sosyal Hayat" ölçekleri uygulanan araştırmada, inanç esaslarına katılımın yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir, ibadetler ise, kafalım ve düzen problemi olmasına rağmen, önemsenmeye devam edilmektedir. Cinsiyete ve Kıbrıslılık durumuna göre bütün boyutlarda anlamlı bir farklılaşma varken, yaş ve ekonomik duruma göre dinî hayatta anlamlı bir farklılaşma tespit edilmemiştir.
This article deals with religious life in Tatlısu district, in Northern Cyprus. It explores the basic belief creeds, the religious practices, the social effects of religiosity and fhe traditional religious behaviors; moreover, it questions how religiosity differentiates according to social gender, age, economical status and being native to Cyprus. The sample covers 200 individuals whose ages range from 15 to 70. Correlational survey method and questionnaire technique are utilized in modeling the research. The two scales applied in the research process have been named "Religious Tendency Scale-I: Belief and Practice" and "Religious Tendency Scale-II: Social Life". The findings indicate fhat participation in a belief System is high. Despite the problem of consistency in religious practices, they are stili important for the case. We also found a statistically meaningful differentiation on ali dimensions of religious life in favor of women and individuals arriving in Cyprus after 1974. However, there was no meaningful differentiation in relation to age and economical status. Implications of these results and suggestions for future research are also discussed.
