Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, oyun temelli sosyal beceri geliştirme programının koruyucu bakım altındaki 6 yaş çocuklarının sosyal beceri ve duygu düzenleme düzeyine etkisini incelemektir. Çalışma, Aile, Çalışma ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanlığı’na bağlı olan ve İstanbul’da bulunan bir çocuk evleri sitesinde kalan 6 deney ve 6 kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 12 çocuk ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma, gerçek deneysel modellerden ön test-son test kontrol gruplu modeldir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Demografik Bilgi Formu, Sosyal Becerileri Değerlendirme Ölçeği ve Duygu Ayarlama Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol grubundaki çocukların sosyal beceri ve duygu düzenleme düzeylerindeki gruplararası farka, Mann Whitney U Testi ile grupiçi farka ise Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar testi ile sınanmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, 10 haftalık oyun temelli sosyal beceri geliştirme programının koruyucu bakım altındaki çocukların sosyal beceri ve duygu düzenleme düzeyleri üzerinde etkisinin olmadığını göstermiştir. Bulgular alanyazın temelinde tartışıldıktan sonra gelecekteki araştırmalara ve uygulamacılara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effects of play-based social skills education program on the level of social skills and emotion regulation of six-years-old children under protective care. The sample consisted of 12 children who were living in a children’s home which is affiliated to the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services in İstanbul. Six of the children were assigned to the experimental group, and six to the control group The current study was an experimental study using the pre-test and post-test model with a control group and the participants recruited through matching sampling. Demographic Information Form, Social Skills Assessment Scale and Emotion Adjustment Scale were used to examine the effects of Play-Based Social Skills Development Program developed by one of the researchers. Mann Whitney U Test was used to compare the pre- test and post-test of both the experimental and control groups’ scores. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was used to make in-group comparison in the experimental and control groups separately before and after the program. The findings indicated that the program was not effective on the social skills and emotion regulation levels of children who are aged six and under protective care. Implications for practice and suggestions for future research were made.
