Abstract
Çağdaş toplumlar, yeni nesillerine bilgiyi yığmak yerine var olan teknolojiden faydalanarak bilgiye ulaşma yollarını öğretme çabası içerisindedirler. Bilimsel süreç becerileri, öğrenmeyi kolaylaştıran, öğrencilerin araştırmalarda aktif olmalarını sağlayarak kendi öğrenmelerinden sorumlu olma duygusu veren, öğrenmenin kalıcılığını arttırarak araştırma yol ve yöntemleri kazandıran, problemler üzerinde düşündüren, problemleri çözmeyi destekleyen becerilerdir. Ders kitapları içeriğinde bilimsel bilgiler barındırmaktadır. Bu sebeple ders kitaplarının, öğrencilere bilgiyi hazır bir şekilde sunmasından ziyade bilimsel süreç becerileri yardımıyla bilgiye ulaşma yollarını öğretecek şekilde hazırlanması gerekmektedir. Bu bağlamda yürütülen çalışmanın amacı, öğretim programlarına göre hazırlanan ders kitaplarındaki etkinliklerin, bilim insanlarının çalışmalarını yürütürken yararlandığı bilimsel süreç becerilerini ne düzeyde kapsadığını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma kapsamında 7. sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitaplarında yer alan etkinlikleri bilimsel süreç becerileri açısından incelemek amacıyla nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan doküman analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın dokümanlarını, 7. Sınıf düzeyinde okullarda okutulan iki fen bilimleri ders kitabı oluşturmaktadır.2018 Fen Bilimleri Dersi Öğretim Programına göre hazırlanan yedinci sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitaplarındaki etkinliklerin analizinden elde edilen bulgulara göre, aynı sınıf düzeyinde okutulan iki fen bilimleri ders kitabının da etkinlik sayıları ve bilimsel süreç becerileri dağılımı açısından sistematik olmadığı, temel ve nedensel süreçlere deneysel süreçlerden daha fazla ağırlık verildiği, en fazla sonuç çıkarma ve gözlem becerilerine rastlanıldığı ve hipotez kurma becerisine hiç rastlanılmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmaktadır.
Instead of piling the information up on new generations, modern societies are in an effort to teach them the ways of accessing information with the help of existing technology. Scientific process skills are the skills that facilitate learning, give students a sense of responsibility on self-learning by making them active in research, enabling them to gain research ways and methods by increasing the permanence of learning, making them to think about problems and support solving problems. Coursebooks contain scientific information in their content. For this reason, coursebooks should be prepared in a way that teaches students the ways of accessing information with the help of scientific process skills, rather than presenting ready-made information. The aim of the study carried out in this context, is to set forth to what extent the activities in coursebooks, such are prepared according to the curriculum, cover the scientific process skills scientists use while conducting their studies. Within the scope of The Research, one of the methods of qualitative research, document analysis was used in order to examine the activities taking place in the 7th grade science coursebooks in terms of scientific process skills. The documents of The Research constitutes two science coursebooks taught in schools to 7th graders. According to the findings obtained from the analysis of the activities in the seventh grade science coursebooks such are prepared according to 2018 Science Course Curriculum, it is concluded that both of the science coursebooks taught to same level of grades are not systematic in terms of number of activities and distribution of scientific process skills, basic and causal processes are focused on more than experimental processes, inference and observation skills are encountered the most, and the skill to hypothesize is not encountered at all.
