Abstract
Öğretmenlik mesleği, toplumu ve geleceği şekillendirmede önemli bir rol oynar. Öğretmenlerin mesleki kimliğe sahip olma düzeyleri ise, kişisel ve mesleki anlamda yeterlik ve değerlere yönelik görüş ve düşüncelerini etkileyebilmektedir. Buradan hareketle, Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin güçlü bir meslek kimliğine sahip olmaları, öğrencilerin sosyal bilinç geliştirmelerine, yurttaşlık değerlerini kazanmalarına ve küresel sorunlara duyarlı bireyler haline gelmelerine önemli katkılar sunabilir. Bu bağlamda gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmanın amacı; Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin meslek kimliğine ilişkin görüşlerini bilimsel yöntemlerle ortaya koymaktır. Bu kapsamda Bursa ili merkez ilçelerde (Osmangazi, Nilüfer ve Yıldırım) görev yapan Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenlerinin, mesleki kimlik kavramına ilişkin görüşleri, mesleki kimlik oluşumuna dair görüşleri ve mesleklerine bakış açıları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda 15 katılımcı ile görüşmeler yapılmış ve veriler elde edilmiştir. Çalışma, nitel desende olgubilim yöntemiyle yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, betimsel analiz ile analiz edilerek bulgulanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulardan ulaşılan sonuçlara göre; öğretmenler, mesleki kimlik kavramının farkındadır ve mesleki kimlik kavramı algısının üzerinde "değer ve inançlar", "mesleki gelişim" ve "toplumsal etki" gibi unsurlar etkili olmaktadır. Bu unsurlar, sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin daha yetkin, etkili ve toplumsal açıdan daha duyarlı bir şekilde daha profesyonel olarak görev yapmalarına katkı sağlamaktadır. Mesleki kimliğin oluşmasında "öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin eğitim öğretim süreçleri, öğretmenlerin kişisel gelişim alanları ve çevresel faktörler" etkili olmaktadır. Etkili olan bu alanlar, öğretmenlerin mesleki kimliklerinin sağlam temellere dayanmasını sağlamakta ve öğretmenlerin motivasyonunu yükselterek kendilerine olan güvenlerini artırmaktadır. Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin mesleklerine olan bakış açıları Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretimindeki Temel Yaklaşımlar kapsamında şekillenmiştir. Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenleri "Vatandaşlık Aktarımı Olarak Sosyal Bilgiler", "Sosyal Bilim Olarak Sosyal Bilgiler" ve "Yansıtıcı Araştırma Olarak Sosyal Bilgiler" kategorilerinde sınıflanmış ve öğretmenlik mesleğine bu kategorilerde bir bakış açısı oluşmuştur. Sosyal bilgiler eğitimi, öğrencilerin vatandaşlık, toplum ve çevrelerindeki dünya anlayışlarını şekillendirmede bütünleyici bir rol oynayan çeşitli temel yaklaşımları kapsadığı düşünüldüğünde, Sosyal bilgiler eğitiminin temeline inerken, öğretmenlerin mesleklerine vatandaşlık aktarımı, sosyal bilim yaklaşımı ve yansıtıcı araştırma öğretimi açısından bir bakış açısına sahip olması öğretimin niteliği adına oldukça önemli bir sonuç olarak görülebilir. Araştırmanın sonuçları kapsamında öğretmenlerin mesleki kimliklerini güçlendirmek ve geliştirmek için öneriler getirilmiştir.
The teaching profession plays an important role in shaping society and the future. Teachers' level of professional identity can affect their views and opinions regarding personal and professional competencies and values. Based on this, Social Studies teachers' having a strong professional identity can make significant contributions to students' development of social awareness, acquisition of citizenship values and becoming individuals sensitive to global problems. The purpose of this research conducted in this context; The aim is to reveal the views of Social Studies teachers regarding their professional identity through scientific methods. In this context, the views of Social Studies Teachers working in the central districts of Bursa (Osmangazi, Nilüfer and Yıldırım) on the concept of professional identity, their views on the formation of professional identity and their perspectives on their profession were tried to be determined. In this regard, interviews were conducted with 15 participants and data was obtained. The study was conducted with the phenomenological method in a qualitative pattern. The data of the research was obtained with a semi-structured interview form. The data obtained was analyzed and discovered using descriptive analysis. According to the results obtained from the findings of the research; Teachers are aware of the concept of professional identity, and factors such as "values and beliefs", "professional development" and "social impact" are effective on the perception of the concept of professional identity. These elements contribute to social studies teachers working more professionally, in a more competent, effective and socially sensitive manner. "Teachers' and students' education and training processes, teachers' personal development areas and environmental factors" are effective in the formation of professional identity. These effective areas ensure that teachers' professional identities are based on solid foundations and increase teachers' motivation and self-confidence. Social Studies teachers' perspectives on their profession are shaped within the scope of Basic Approaches in Social Studies Teaching. Social Studies teachers were classified in the categories of "Social Studies as Citizenship Transfer", "Social Studies as Social Science" and "Social Studies as Reflective Research" and a perspective on the teaching profession was formed in these categories. Considering that social studies education encompasses a variety of basic approaches that play an integral role in shaping students' understanding of citizenship, society and the world around them, when delving into the foundations of social studies education, teachers should have a perspective in terms of citizenship transfer to their profession, social science approach and reflective research teaching for the sake of the quality of teaching. It can be seen as a very important result. Within the scope of the results of the research, suggestions were made to strengthen and develop teachers' professional identities.
