Abstract
Makalede, önce vaaz ve vâizlik kavramları açıklanmıştır. Sonra Osmanlı Devleti dönemi vâizlerinin yaptıkları vaazlara değinilmiş, devletin son dönemindeki vâizlerin yetersizliklerinden bahsedilerek, kâmil vâizler yetiştirilebilmesi amacıyla açılan Medresetü’l-Vâizîn ve Medresetü’l-İrşad hakkında bilgi verilmiş, ancak dönemin olumsuz şartları sebebiyle söz konusu medreselerden amaçlanan hedefe ulaşılamadığı anlatılmıştır. Cumhuriyet döneminde ise yıllarca din eğitimi ve öğretiminin yasaklanması sebebiyle bu alanda yaşanan sıkıntılar anlatılmış, akabinde çok partili sisteme geçildikten sonra İmam-Hatip Liseleri ile dinî eğitim yaptıran yükseköğretim kurumlarının açılması ve mezunların bu alanda görev almaya başlamalarıyla giderek vâizlik ve vaazlar alanında kemiyet ve keyfiyet bakımından gelişmenin başladığına dikkat çekilmiştir. Makale; vâizlerde olması gereken nitelikler ve vaazlarda usûl/yöntem hakkında bilgi verildikten sonra bir değerlendirmeyle tamamlanmıştır.
This article, having explained the terms “preacher” and “sermon”, deals with sermons given by preachers of Ottoman State, deficiency of preachers in the last period of the state, schools established in order to educate and train preachers such as Madrasah al-Wâizîn (school of preachers) and Madrasah al-Irshad (school of guidance) and the failure of the project because of the poor conditions of the period. In the period of Republic, there were many discomforts due to the oppressions on the religious education. In the multi-party period, İmam Hatip High schools and other higher education institutions were established, graduates of these schools started to take the office of preachers. Therefore, there is apparent advancement in terms of quantity and quality. The article ends with the qualities that preachers should have and method for sermons.
