Abstract
Bu çalışma eğitilmiş bir köpekle sığırlarda östrüs tespitinin güvenilirliğinin test edilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaç için bir adet Alınan Kısa Tüylü Pointer ırkı köpek ödül-düzeltme yöntemine göre eğitilmiştir.' Koku kaynağı olarak östrüs de bulunan ineklerden alınan vajinal mukus kullanılmıştır. Bir tanesi östrüs koku kaynağı içeren 4 kavanoz birbirinden yaklaşık 1 m aralıklarla doğrusal bir hat üzerine yerleştirilmiştir. Koku kaynaklarının birbiri ardınca gelme sırası her testten sonra değiştirilmiştir. Östrüs koku kaynağının birbiri ardınca gelme sırasının farklı olarak düzenlendiği 4 ayrı test için köpeğin östrüs ko ku kaynağına doğru tepki verme oranları sırasıyla; % 92.14, 92.00, 84.26 ve 87.00 bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak sığırlarda östrüs tespiti amacıyla eğitilmiş köpek kullanımının sığırın köpeğe karşı katı ve sert tutumu olmaksızın birbirlerine uyum sağlar arsa ucuz ve faydalı bir method olabileceği düşünülebilir. Aynı zamanda köpeklerin 8 hafta veya daha genç bir yaşta sığırlar ile birlikte yetiştirilmesi de göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır.
The aim of this study was to examine of reliability estrus detection in cows by a trained dog. For this reason, A German Shorthaired Pointer dog was trained according to the method of reward-correction conditioning. Vajinal mucus taken from cows in estrus was used as an odour source. Four jar, one of them containing estrus samples, were placed in a straight line at about 1.0 m intervals. The sequence of odour samples was changed after each test. For four tests, the sequence of estrus sample were arranged differently, the correct respond of the dogs forestrus sample was found 92.14, 92.00, 84.26 ve 87.00% respectively. In conclusion, using the trained dog can be considered a very useful and cheap method for improving the estrus detection in cows if the dog works with cattle without the aggressive and defensive behaviour of cows towards a dog. In the same time, raising dogs with cows from eight weeks or younger it must be taken into consideration, as well.
