Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı karikatürlerle desteklenerek yapılan öğretimin ilköğretim 6.sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik dersi doğal sayılar alt öğrenme alanındaki akademik başarılarına ve matematiğe yönelik tutumlarına etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2009-2010 öğretim yılında Ankara ili Keçiören ilçesinden bir ilköğretim okulunun 6.sınıf öğrencileri, örneklemi ise aynı ilköğretim okulunun üç 6. sınıf şubesi oluşturmaktadır. Ön test son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desenin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada şubelerden biri deney, ikisi kontrol grubu olarak atanmıştır. Araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 17 soruluk çoktan seçmeli başarı testi ön test, son test ve kalıcılık testi olmak üzere üç kez uygulanmıştır. Tutum ölçeği ise ön test ve son test olmak üzere iki kez uygulanmıştır. Dersler deney grubunda 5E modeli temel alınarak hazırlanan ders planlarına göre, altı şapkalı düşünme tekniğine uygun tasarlanan karikatürize edilmiş senaryolar kullanılarak işlenmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS programından faydalanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin başarı testi ve tutum ölçeğinden aldıkları puanların analizi sonucunda deney ve kontrol gruplarının akademik başarıları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık oluşmadığı saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin ön tutum ve son tutum puanlarına bakıldığında ise grupların puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmüştür.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of cartoons supported education on academic achievements and attitudes of 6th grade students towards mathematics course in terms of natural numbers sub-learning. Population of the research consists 6th grade students of a primary school in Keçiören, Ankara during 2009-2010 academic year. Sample of the study consists of three 6th grade classes from the same primary school. One of classes was appointed as experimental group while the other two classes were appointed as control group. The multiple choice achievement test designed by the researcher consisting 17 questions was applied three times as pre-test, post test and permanency test while attitude scale was applied twice as pre-test and post test. Courses were lectured according to outline syllabus/lesson plans which were based on 5E model with caricaturized scenarios adaptive to six thinking hats method. SPSS program was used for analysing the data. As a result of achievement test and attitude scale score evaluation of students, it was revealed that there is no significant difference between academic achievements of experimental and control groups. Examining the pre-attitude and post attitude scores of students, it was found that there is no significant difference between the scores.
