Abstract
Femur üst parçasında Allen’s fossa, Poirier’s facet, plak, fossa trochanterica’da ekzositos ve 3. trochanter gibi varyasyonlar görülmektedir. Çömelme alışkanlıkları ile ilişkili olabilen bu varyasyonlar 13. Y.Y. Bizans Dönemine ait 107 adet genç yetişkin erkek femurlarında varlığı incelenmiştir. % 1.6 oranında Allen’s fossa, % 4.5 oranında Poirier’in eklem yüzü, % 4.5 oranında plak, % 22.0 oranında fossa trochanterica’da ekzositos ve % 15.0 oranında 3. trochanter’e rastlanmıştır. 3. trochanter ve fossa trochanterica’da ekzositos görülme oranlarının erkeklerde daha yüksek olması, kalıtsal özellikten çok yaşam koşullarının güçlüğüne bağlı olabilir.
Allen’s fossa, Poirier’s facet, plaque, exostosis in trochanteric fossa and the third trochanter are the variations closely related to the habit of squatting, which are seen on the proximal part of femurs. Totally, 107 proximal part of femurs of the young adult males belong to 13rd century Byzantine Period were investigated for these variations. Allen’s fossa, Poirier’s facet, plaque, exostosis in trochanteric fossa and the third trochanter were observed at the rates of 1.6, 4.5, 4.5, 22.0 and 15.0 percentages respectively. Presence of third trochanter and exostosis in trochanteric fossa at higher rates in males than females were considered to be related to the hard living conditions rather than heredity.
