Abstract
Gerek kültür bitkilerinin polinasyonunda gerek ekolojik dengenin korunmasında gerekse insan beslenmesindeki önemli rolü nedeniyle bal arıları insanlar için vazgeçilmez böceklerdir. Bu böceklerden yararlanmanın azami olabilmesi için yapılacak en önemli işlemlerden birisi de bunların hastalık ve zararlılarıyla etkin ve doğru bir mücadelenin yapılmasıdır. Varroa destructor bal arılarının verimliliğini olumsuz yönde etkileyen en önemli parazittir. Bir zararlıya karşı etkin bir mücadele geliştirebilmenin yegane yolu o zararlının üreme, beslenme ve yaşama şekli gibi biyolojik özelliklerinin iyi bilinmesidir. Bu makalede bal arılarının en önemli zararlısı olan Varroa destructor ile mücadelede isabetli karar vermeye yardımcı olması amacıyla parazitin biyolojisi incelenmektedir.
Honey bees are very important insects for humans. Because they help to protect the ecological balance and they have an important role on production of the human feeds. To increase the advantage of these insects, we must make a true and effect fight against their diseases and parasites. Varroa destructor is one of the most important parasite to effect the productivity of honey bees. If we know well to the biology of reproduce, feeding and living system of the parasite, we may make an effect fight against the parasite. This article is prepared to give important information about the biology of the Varroa destructor for helping to give an appropriate decision.
