Abstract
Yetîm kelimesi, babası ölmüş ve henüz bülûğ çağına gelmemiş çocuklar için kullanılmaktadır. Osmanlı’da eytâm keseleri ise, yetîmlere miras yoluyla kalan menkul ve gayri menkul malların, vasîleri tarafından işletilmesi ve elde edilen gelirle, bu şahısların ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması amacıyla oluşturulan kurumlardır. Yetîmler reşit olduklarında bu keseler fesh edilmekte ve miras olarak kalan mallar kendilerine şahitler huzurunda teslim edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Bursa kadı sicilleri içerisinde yer alan, yetîm keseleri ile ilgili muhasebe kayıtlarından elde edilen bilgiler sunulmaktadır.
The word orphan is used for the children whose father have died and who have not attained the age of puberty yet. In the Ottoman, the orphan funds are the organizations established with the aim of management of the movable and immovable goods by their guardians, such goods having been transferred to the orphans via the inheritance as well as covering the demands of the said persons with the income earned. Once the orphans become adults these funds are abolished and the inherited goods are delivered to them before the witness. In this study, the information taken from the finance records concerning the orphan funds within the judicial registers of Bursa is presented.
