Bu araştırmada geleneksel çocuk oyunlarıyla bütünleştirilmiş fen etkinliklerinin okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının problem çözme ve yaratıcılık becerileri üzerine etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Bursa ili Yıldırım ilçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı resmi bağımsız anaokuluna devam eden 5-6 yaş grubu toplam 39 (19 kız, 20 erkek) çocuk oluşturmuştur. Çalışma 2023-2024 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde 6 hafta/12 oturum ve 2 hafta ön test son testlerin uygulanması olmak üzere toplam 8 hafta süreyle uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında yapılması planlanan etkinliklere başlamadan önce 1 hafta deney ve kontrol gruplarına ön testler uygulanmış; deney grubunda altı hafta boyunca araştırma etkinlikleri yürütülmüş ve ardından 1 hafta deney ve kontrol gruplarına son testler uygulanarak süreç tamamlanmıştır. Hem deney hem de kontrol grubundaki etkinlikler, araştırmacı ve sınıf öğretmeni tarafından birlikte yürütülmüştür. Kontrol grubunda belirlenen kazanımlar, mevcut 2023 Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB) Okul Öncesi Eğitim Programı çerçevesinde yer alan fen etkinlikleriyle sağlanırken; deney grubunda ise aynı kazanımlar, MEB Eğitim Programında yer alan fen etkinliklerinin geleneksel çocuk oyunlarıyla zenginleştirilerek işlenmesi şeklinde sağlanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 29.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının kendi içindeki ön test ve son test puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında, ilişkili örneklemler için parametrik olmayan testlerden Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi; deney ve kontrol gruplarının son test puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında ise ilişkisiz örneklemler için parametrik olmayan testlerden Mann-Whitney U Testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre uygulanan geleneksel çocuk oyunlarıyla bütünleştirilmiş fen etkinliklerinin çocukların problem çözme ve yaratıcılık becerilerinin gelişiminde oldukça etkili olduğu, çocukların sunulan probleme yönelik çeşitli çözüm yolları üretebildikleri ve bu çözümü sözel olarak ifade edebildikleri tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonunda amaçlar ve elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda gelecekte gerçekleştirilecek olan araştırmalara yönelik çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur.
In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of science activities integrated with traditional children's games on preschool children's problem solving and creativity skills. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 39 (19 girls, 20 boys) children aged 5-6 years attending a public independent kindergarten affilianted with the Yıldırım district National Education Directorate in Bursa. The study was conducted in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year for a total of 8 weeks, including 6 weeks/12 sessions and 2 weeks of pre-test post-tests. In the study, a quasiexperimental design with pretest-posttest control group, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. Before starting the activities planned within the scope of the research, pre-tests were applied to the experimental and control groups for one week; research activities were carried out for six weeks in the experimental group and then post-tests were applied to the experimental and control groups for one week and the process was completed. The activities in both the experimental and control groups were carried out jointly by the researcher and the classroom teacher. In the control group, the learning outcomes were achieved through science activities within the framework of the existing 2023 Ministry of National Education (MoNE) Preschool Education Program, while in the experimental group, the same learning outcomes were achieved by enriching the science activities in the MoNE Education Program with traditional children's games. SPSS 29.0 package program was used for data analysis. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, a nonparametric test for related samples, was used to compare the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental and control groups; Mann-Whitney U Test, a nonparametric test for unrelated samples, was used to compare the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, it was determined that the science activities integrated with traditional children's games were very effective in the development of children's problem solving and creativity skills, and that children were able to produce various solutions to the problem presented and express this solution verbally. At the end of the study, various suggestions for future research were presented in line with the objectives and findings obtained.
