In finite element computation, accuracy of numerical results can be enhanced using higher order elements. Higher order finite elements introduce us to two types of elements: Mixed and full order elements. This paper presents application of mixed and full order elements to modeling of microwave heating. For these elements, basis functions up to second order are expressed. To get efficiency of mixed and full order elements, loaded waveguide is chosen as a test case. Reflection coefficient, electric field distribution and loss power density are obtained the numerical model and these results are compared.
