Müzelerin sosyal bilgiler dersinde okul dışı öğretim ortamı olarak kullanımına yönelik bir eylem araştırması: Bursa Yaşam Kültürü Müzesi

Abstract

2005 sosyal bilgiler öğretim programında yapılan değişiklik ile yapılandırmacı eğitim anlayışı benimsenmiştir. Bu anlayışa göre öğretim süreçlerinde öğrencilerin aktif katılımı esas alınmaktadır. Aktif katılımlar, yapılan okul içi ve okul dışı etkinlikler ile mümkün olabilmektedir. Okul dışı ortamların kullanılması öğrencilere, öğrendikleri bilgileri günlük yaşamında deneyimleme ve pratik olarak da uygulayabilme imkânı sunmaktadır. Bu ortamlara; hayvanat bahçelerinden bilim merkezlerine, tiyatrolardan sanat galerilerine, müzelerden ören yerlerine kadar pek çok yer örnek gösterilebilmektedir. Son yıllarda eğitimde okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarının kullanılmasına önem verilmektedir. Müzeler de okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarına güzel bir örnektir. Müzeler ile ilgi yapılan araştırmalar incelendiğinde, müze kullanımının öğrenme üzerinde olumlu etkiye sahip olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Müzeler aracılığı ile öğrenciler nesneleri yerinde inceleyebilmektedir. Nesneleri bulundukları alanda gözleme imkânı elde eden öğrenciler bu sayede zihinlerinde yer alan soyut şemaları kolaylıkla somutlaştırabilmektedirler. Yapılan bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden arasında yer alan eylem araştırmasından faydalanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim döneminde Bursa ili Osmangazi ilçesi Süleyman Çelebi İmam Hatip Ortaokulu’ndan 5, 6 ve 7. sınıflardan toplam 25 öğrenciden oluşturulmuştur. Bu okul müzeye yakın olması sebebi ile seçilmiştir. Süleyman Çelebi İmam Hatip Ortaokulu çalışmanın yapıldığı dönemde toplam 200 öğrenci mevcuduna sahiptir. Okulda kız öğrencilerin sayısı erkek öğrenci sayısından fazla olması dolayısıyla, çalışma 10 erkek öğrenci ve 15 kız öğrencinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veriler öğrenci görüşme formlarıyla toplanmıştır. Veri analizi yapılırken betimsel analiz yöntemine başvurulmuştur. Okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarında eğlenerek öğrenme faaliyetleri gerçekleştirildiği için öğrenciler üzerinde olumlu etki bıraktığı gözlemlenmiştir.

With the 2005 amendment to the social studies curriculum, a constructivist education approach was adopted. According to this understanding, active participation of students in teaching processes is taken as a basis. Active participation is possible through in-school and out-of-school activities. The use of out-of-school environments offers students the opportunity to experience and practically apply the knowledge they have learned in their daily lives. Examples of these environments include zoos, science centers, theaters, art galleries, museums and ruins. In recent years, the use of out-of-school learning environments has been emphasized in education. Museums are a good example of out-of-school learning environments. When the research on museums is examined, it is observed that the use of museums has a positive effect on learning. Through museums, students can examine objects on site. In this way, students who have the opportunity to observe objects in the field where they are located can easily concretize the abstract schemes in their minds. In this study, action research, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was utilized. The study group consisted of a total of 25 5th, 6th and 7th grade students from Süleyman Çelebi Imam Hatip Secondary School in Osmangazi district of Bursa province during the 2023-2024 academic year. This school was chosen because it is close to the museum. Süleyman Çelebi Imam Hatip Secondary School had a total enrollment of 200 students at the time of the study. Since the number of female students in the school is higher than the number of male students, the study was conducted with the participation of 10 male students and 15 female students. Data were collected through student interview forms. Descriptive analysis method was used for data analysis. It was observed that out-of-school learning environments have a positive effect on students as learning activities are carried out by having fun.
