Özet
Bu araştırmada, ortaokul beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin yüzdeler konusuyla ilgili bilgi oluşturma süreçlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, öğrencilerin yüzdeler konusuna ilişkin bilgi oluşturma süreçlerinin incelenmesine yönelik tasarlanan öğrenme ortamlarında öğretim gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden örnek olay yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılacak öğrencilerin belirlenmesi için amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda, öğrencilerin ön bilgilerini belirlemek amacıyla hazırlanan Hazırbulunuşluk Testi ve yüzdeler konusuna yönelik bilgilerin önceden oluşturulup oluşturulmadığını belirlemek amacıyla hazırlanan Yüzdeler Hazırbulunuşluk Testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, yüzdeler konusundaki bilgileri henüz oluşturmamış ve hazırbulunuşluk düzeyleri yeterli olan dört beşinci sınıf öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Örnek olay çalışması için araştırmanın amacına uygun olarak hazırlanmış etkinlik sorularının uygulamaları, iki kişilik öğrenci gruplarında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada kullanılan veri toplama yöntemleri katılımcı gözlem, klinik mülakat ve doküman incelemesi olarak belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, RBC+C soyutlama modelinin tanıma, kullanma, oluşturma ve pekiştirme eylemlerine uygun olarak bir nitel veri analizi türü olan betimsel analiz ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonunda, örnek olay çalışmasına katılan öğrencilerin büyük bir kısmının yüzdeler konusuna ilişkin bilgileri oluşturdukları ve pekiştirdikleri görülmüştür.
The aim of this study is to investigate the processes of middle school fifth grade students in constructing knowledge about the subject of percentages. With this aim, the instruction was carried out in learning environments designed to investigate the processes of students in constructing knowledge about the subject of percentages. In the study, the case study method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used to determine the students who would participate in the study. In this context, the Readiness Test, which was prepared to determine the students' prior knowledge, and the Percentage Readiness Test, which was prepared to determine whether the information about the subject of percentages was constructed in advance, were used. The research was conducted with four fifth grade students who had not previously constructed the knowledge about percentages and whose readiness levels were sufficient. Applications of the activity questions prepared in accordance with the aim of the study for the case studies were carried out in groups of two students. The data collection methods used in the study were determined as participant observation, clinical interview and document analysis. The obtained data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, which is a type of qualitative data analysis in accordance with the recognizing, building-with, construction and consolidation actions of the RBC+C abstraction model. Finally, it was understood that the majority of the students who participated in the case studies constructed and consolidated their knowledge on the subject of percentages.
