Abstract
Dijital teknolojilerin eğitim dünyasında etkisini hızla artırması sonucunda sanal gerçeklik teknolojisinin eğitimde kullanımını görmekteyiz. Çok çeşitli etkileşimler barındıran ve fiziksel olarak bir mekâna bağlı kalmadan uzaktan yaşanabilecek deneyimler sunan metaverse ortamları, üniversitede işlenecek teorik ve uygulamalı eğitimler konusunda da şüphesiz büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada, kullanıcı-odaklı tasarım anlayışla eğitim odaklı sanal evren (metaverse) tasarım sürecinde yeni bir tasarım yaklaşımı ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda, Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi için bir sanal sınıf tasarımı örnek olarak sunulmaktadır. Durum çalışması olarak gerçekleştirilen çalışmada, ilgili alan yazın araştırılmış, üniversite öğrencilerinin görüşleri alınmış ve eğitim amaçlı mevcut sanal gerçeklik ortamları incelenmiştir. Toplamda 130 öğrencinin görüşleri, açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir anket yoluyla alınmış ve içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda, öğrencilerin metaverse ortamında bir eğitim platformuna yönelik ihtiyaç ve talepleri 11 temadan oluşan 3 kategoride toplanarak değerlendirilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre metaverse ortamında bir eğitim platformu ve sınıf ortamı tasarlanmıştır.
As a result of the rapid increase in the impact of digital technologies in the world of education, wesee the use of virtual reality technology in education. Metaverse environments, which contain a widevariety of interactions and offer experiences that can be experienced remotely without being physically connected to a place, are undoubtedly of great importance for the theoretical andpractical education to be taught at the university. The aim of this study is to present a new design approach in the design process of education-oriented virtual universe (metaverse) with a user-oriented design approach. In this context, a virtual classroom design for Yıldız Technical University is presented as an example. In the study, which was conducted as a case study, the relevant literature was researched, the opinions of university students were taken and existing virtual realityenvironments for educational purposes were examined. The opinions of 130 students were collected through a questionnaire consisting of open-ended questions and analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the analysis, the needs and demands of the students for an educationalplatform in the metaverse environment were collected and evaluated in 3 categories consisting of 11 themes. According to the results of the analysis, an educational platform and classroom environment were designed in the metaverse environment.
