Bâbürnâme’de ölüm kavramını karşılayan örtmeceler

Abstract

Dil, tarihî dönemlerden bugüne insanoğlunun en önemli iletişim aracı olma işlevini yürütmektedir. Temel olarak anlaşılma ekseninde ilerleyen dilde açık ifadelerin yer aldığı görülmekteyken dilin zamanla işlenip gelişmesiyle birlikte temel amaç olan net ifadenin yanında, ifadenin muhatabındaki etkisi vb. düşünce ve duygular dili daha kompleks bir yapı hâline getirmiştir. Zamanla aynı duygu veya durumlar çeşitli etkiler de gözetilerek bazen çok açık, bazen dolaylı bazen de süslü bir şekilde anlatıcının tercihine ve dili kullanma becerisine göre şekillenmiştir. Özellikle üzüntü, utanç, korku vb. duygular oluşturabileceği düşünülen kimi kavramlar için anlaşılma esas olmakla birlikte daha örtülü bir kullanımın tercih edildiği görülmektedir. Bu durum ölüm kavramının ifadesinde de ortaya çıkar. Bu çalışmada dilin bu özelliğini ölüm kavramı üzerinden incelemek amaçlanmıştır. İnceleme kapsamında Çağatay edebiyatının en önemli eserlerinden olan Bâbürnâme ele alınacak, eserde ölüm kavramını karşılamak için kullanılan örtmeceler belirlenip değerlendirilecektir.

Language has been the most important means of communication for human from ancient times to the present day. While it is seen that there are clear expressions in the language, which progressed on the axis of comprehension, with the processing and development of language over time, besides the clear expression, which is the main purpose, the effect of the expression of the interlocutor, etc. thoughts and emotions have made the language a more complex structure. Over time, the same feelings or situations are shaped according to the narrator’s preference and the ability to use the language, sometimes very clearly, sometimes indirectly, and sometimes ornately, considering various effects. Especially for some concepts that are thought to create emotions such as sadness, shame, fear, etc., it is seen that a more implicit use is preferred although understanding is essential. This situation also occurs in the expression of the concept of death. In this study, it was aimed to examine this feature of language through the concept of death. As part of the review, Bâbürnâme, one of the most important works of, Chagatai literature, will be discussed and the euphemisms used to meet the concept of death in the work will be determined and evaluated.
