Bu araştırma ilkokul dördüncü sınıf Türkçe dersinde yaratıcı drama yönteminin kullanılmasının öğrencilerin konuşma becerilerinin gelişimine etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Kocaeli ili Gebze ilçesinde bulunan bir ilkokulda 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında öğrenim gören elli iki dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada deney (n=27) ve kontrol (n=25) grubu olmak üzere iki sınıf yer almıştır. Beş hafta, 20 ders saati süren deneysel uygulama; deney grubunda Türkçe dersi Milli Kültürümüz teması metinleriyle hazırlanan yaratıcı drama yöntemiyle ile yürütülmüş, kontrol grubunda ise aynı tema mevcut program doğrultusunda işlenmiştir. Deney grubunda yaratıcı drama ile işlenecek Türkçe dersi planları ilkokulda Türkçe öğretimi ve yaratıcı drama eğitimi alanlarında çalışmalar yapan iki uzmanın görüşleri alınarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak çalışma grubuna Konuşma Becerisi Puanlama Anahtarı (Aykaç, 2011) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Analizde öncelikle Shapiro-Wilk normallik testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada anlamlılık düzeyi 0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının ön değerlendirme ve son değerlendirme puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında bağımsız örneklem t-testinden yararlanılmıştır. Tekrarlı ölçüme sahip eşleştirilmiş iki grubu karşılaştırmak için “Karışık Ölçümlü ANOVA” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları Türkçe dersinde yaratıcı drama etkinliklerinin uygulandığı deney grubu öğrencilerinin Konuşma Becerisi Puanlama Anahtarı son ölçümlerinde aldıkları puanların kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin Konuşma Becerisi Puanlama Anahtarı son ölçümlerinde aldıkları puanlara göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılık olduğunu göstermiştir. Deney grubu öğrencilerinin uygulama sonrasında aldıkları puanların kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin puanlarından daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin konuşma becerilerinin cinsiyete göre anlamlı farklılık göstermediği tespit edilmiştir. Yukarıdaki bulgular ışığında, bu araştırmada ilkokul Türkçe dersi kapsamında yaratıcı drama ile gerçekleştirilen etkinliklerin, ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin konuşma becerilerinin gelişimine olumlu katkıda bulunduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucu benzer araştırmaların sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar kapsamında araştırmacılara ve uygulayıcılara araştırmalarında yaratıcı drama yöntemi kullanımına yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
This research was conducted to examine the effect of using the creative drama method in the fourth-grade primary school Turkish lesson on the development of students' speaking skills. The study group of the research consists of fifty-two fourth-grade students studying at a primary school in Gebze, Kocaeli province during the 2022-2023 academic year. The study included two classes: an experimental group (n=27) and a control group (n=25). The experimental practice, which lasted for five weeks and consisted of 20 lesson hours, was conducted using the creative drama method prepared with texts from the theme of "Our National Culture" in the Turkish lesson for the experimental group, while the same theme was taught in the control group according to the existing program. The lesson plans for the Turkish lessons to be conducted using creative drama in the experimental group were prepared by the researcher based on the opinions of two experts studying in the fields of Turkish language teaching and creative drama education in primary schools. In the research, the Speaking Skills Scoring Key (Aykaç, 2011) were used as data collection tool for the study group. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. In the analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test was applied initially. The significance level in the study was set at 0.05. An independent samples t-test was used to compare the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental and control groups. Mixed Measures ANOVA was used to compare two matched groups with repeated measures. The findings of the study showed that there is a significant difference between the final scores of the experimental group students, who participated in creative drama activities in the Turkish lessons, and the final scores of the control group students as measured by the Speaking Skills Scoring Key. It was observed that the scores of the experimental group students after the intervention were higher than those of the control group. However, it was determined that there was no significant difference in students' speaking skills based on gender. In light of these findings, the research concluded that the creative drama activities implemented within the framework of the Turkish lesson have a positive contribution to the development of speaking skills among fourth-grade primary school students. The results of the study were compared with those of similar research. Within the scope of these results, suggestions have been made to researchers and practitioners regarding the use of the creative drama method in their studies.
