Publication The relationship between employee jealousy, job satisfaction, burnout and vigor: A study of white-collar employees(İstanbul Üniversitesi, 2019-01-01) Bayramarlı, Nuran; Aydemir, Mine; Çelik, Elif; Bayramarli, Nuran; AYDEMİR DEV, MİNE; ÇELİK, KERİME ELİF; İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi; Ekonometri Bölümü; 0000-0001-6969-4520; 0000-0001-5492-184X; 0000-0003-3276-8148; JFK-4021-2023; HSH-8596-2023; JXI-7168-2024Aim: The aim of this study was to analyze and to explore the structural relationship between employee jealousy, job satisfaction, burnout and vigor.Methodology: A total of 144 white-collar employees operating in the private sector constituted the research population. Shirom-Melamed Burnout & Vigor Scales, Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ), and Employee Jealousy Scale developed by Vecchio were used to quantify the concepts in question. Results: The relationship between employee jealousy, job satisfaction, burnout and vigor was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that employee jealousy has a directly positive effect on burnout Moreover, it was found that burnout has a negative effect on vigor and job satisfaction, while vigor has a positive effect on job satisfaction. Conclusion: Employee jealousy, as a negative workplace emotion, indirectly affects variables such as job satisfaction and vigor, while directly affecting the burnout variable. However, for the first time in this study, burnout is seen to play a mediating role in employee jealousy. Employee jealousy must be taken into consideration by managers in the work-place as a factor affecting performance, attaching the same level of importance as to variables such as burnout, vigor, etc.Publication Analysis of variables affecting municipal borrowing with quantile regression in Turkey(Ege Üniviversitesi Ekonomi ve İdari Bilimler, 2022-02-01) Serbes, Halil; Aydemir, Mine; Çetinkaya, Özhan; Arlı, Nuran Bayram; SERBES, HALİL; AYDEMİR DEV, MİNE; ÇETİNKAYA, ÖZHAN; BAYRAM ARLI, NURAN; İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi; Maliye Bölümü; 0000-0001-5492-184X; HSH-8596-2023; GNM-2307-2022; JGY-6303-2023; JFK-4021-2023The present study aimed to determine the variables that affect municipal borrowing in Turkey and analyze them using the quantile regression. In this analysis, municipal debt was analyzed for five quantiles (10th, 25th, 50th, 75th ve 90th), and it was observed that various variables explained the debt in different quantiles. Some variables are significant in all quantiles and could explain the municipal debt, while certain variables were not significant in various quantiles. The findings show that per capita budget expenditure has a significant and positively correlated per capita municipal debt in all five quantiles; expenditure commitment rate in four, and non-interest fiscal capacity rate in the first two quantiles. Per capita tax revenue variable was also significant and negatively correlated with per capita municipal debt in all five borrowing groups. However, population and per capita capital expenditure variables were found insignificant in almost five quantiles. The present study demonstrated that the proposals and policies developed on the municipal debt could have different determinants for municipalities with varying levels of debt.Publication An analysis of the relationship between municipalities and ngos in terms of active participation in local budgeting in turkiye(Sosyoekonomi Soc, 2023-04-01) Eroğlu, Erdal; Aydemir-Dev, Mine; AYDEMİR DEV, MİNE; Tunç, Gülçin; TUNÇ, GÜLÇİN; Gerçek, Adnan; GERÇEK, ADNAN; İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi; 0000-0002-9495-2429; AAG-8408-2021; HSH-8596-2023This study focuses on the relationship between NGOs' active participation in municipal budgeting and their perception of budget efficiency. Our research estimates the relationships among transparency, trust in the municipality, NGOs' active participation, responsibility, and budget efficiency perception via the structural equation model. The findings indicate that active participation plays a key role in the model and directly affects the perception of budget efficiency. Besides, increased active participation, NGOs' responsibility, and trust positively affect budget efficiency perception. Transparency mediated through active participation and trust affects the perception of budget efficiency. Trust, transparency, and responsibility positively affect active participation.Publication Measuring ngos? Active participation in municipal decision- making in Turkiye(Istanbul Univ, 2023-01-01) Eroğlu, Erdal; TUNÇ, GÜLÇİN; AYDEMİR DEV, MİNE; İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi; Ekonometri Bölümü; HSH-8596-2023; AAH-1827-2021This study develops a new scale for measuring the active participation relation between municipalities and NGOs. While citizen participation at the local level is a widely explored topic, a scale that aims to get NGO members' perceptions about their level of participation and focuses on the budgeting process is not available. We carried out an extensive review of the participation and budgeting literature and considered the inputs obtained from this review in developing our two-dimensional and 6-item participation scale. 'Participation mechanism' and 'participation process' were determined as two dimensions. This was a decision made based on the existence of an emphasis on the interplay between the participation mechanisms used and the participation process actualized in the relevant literature. As existing scales for examining local participation are designed to get data from public officials, we hope that obtaining data from NGOs will enrich our understanding of the complex participatory relationship between citizens and the local administration.Publication Investigation of students' perceptions of multidimensional perfectionism with self-esteem and stress(Dergipark, 2020-01-01) Aydemir, Mine; Bayram Arlı, Nuran; AYDEMİR DEV, MİNE; BAYRAM ARLI, NURAN; İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi; Ekonometri Bölümü; 0000-0003-3276-8148; 0000-0001-5492-184X; HSH-8596-2023; JFK-4021-2023Perfectionism can be considered as an indicator of the emotions of individuals in the process of reaching the best. Perfectionism is seen as a risk factor for negative emotions such as depression, anxiety, stress, and burnout. On the other hand, it is thought that the perception of perfectionism can be considered positive with some dimensions. Based on the discussions at this point, the question of whether the effects of perfectionism dimensions on the concepts that can be evaluated as positive and negative are examined in the current study. It is aimed to make inferences about the direction of perfectionism sub-dimensions. Estimations were made with structural equation models that produced stronger estimation results by taking into account measurement errors. As a result of this study, it was found that university students' perceptions of perfectionism had statistically significant effects on stress and self-esteem. At the same time, it has been shown that self-esteem is mediating for some perfectionism sub-dimensions. It was found that the four dimensions of perfectionism directly affected stress and also all dimensions directly affected self-esteem. At the same time, these findings provide evidence that the multidimensional structure rather than the one-dimensional structure of perfectionism contains more information.
