In this study, the cycle calculations and the determination of the coefficient of performance for the vapour compression heat pump are explained. The variation of the coefficient of performance according to changes in the condenser and evaporator temperatures, calculat by a computer program are given. The effect of superheating and subcooling on the coefficient of performance is explained by curues. Concepts of heat pump efficiency and primary energy rate are given and the factors affecting them are examined.
