Item An insight into the Middle Ages through the singular spiritual experiences of Margery Kempe, and Christ as a “lover” in Kempe’s book, and other religious works(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2003-12-01) Ege, UfukMargery Kempe (c.1373-c.1439), bir otobiyografi yazarıdır ve onun ruhsal yaşamı The Book of Margery Kempe (Margery Kempe’in Kitabı) adlı eserinde kaleme alınmıştır. Item Is post-modernism a tramp for the development?(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2003-12-01) Cirhinlioğlu, ZaferIt is widely accepted that, in our day, the world is divided into two different parts; developed and undeveloped. Undeveloped countries were left simply with one choice; that is, development or modernisation. In this period, Western civilisation points to a number of basic values/concept, namely, capitalism, individualism, secularism, human rights, consumption, and more importantly than the others, rationality. However, intellectuals in the West is apparently convinced that it is just time to shift the direction of these discussions and to maintain and consolidate relative vested privileges and superiority of the West, which were gained on the basis of principles of rationality and particularly the positivist methodology. This article reviews the post-modern discourse from the perspective of undeveloped countries. It is concluded that post-modernisation services for the exploitation of the labour market and material resources of undeveloped world.Item Leadership perspectives on Turkey’s accession to the European Union(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2003-12-01) Şimşek, SefaTurkey’s full membership to the European Union is stipulated on the Copenhagen political criteria. These criteria, which have been broadly discussed by the Turkish public since 1999, centered around certain sensitivities such as the partial transfer of national sovereignty to the European Union, abolition of capital punishment, restoration of the National Security Council (MGK) and enhancing the rights of ethnic and cultural minorities. Political and public opinion leaders, political parties have developed quite diverse and conflicting perspectives on these sensitivities. In this study, a comparative analysis of these perspectives is given and their possible impact on Turkey’s European vision is estimated. The gravity of these counterveiling approaches, which swing between Europhilia and Euroclasm, seems to rest ultimately in Europe.
