Item An architectural desing studio in approach: “Galata experience”(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2010-12-22) Çetinkaya, Haluk; Deniz, Özgür; Akıncıtürk, Nilüfer; Çağlı, Yıldız; Erbil, Yasemin; Gür, Miray; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Mühendislik-Mimarlık Fakültesi/Mimarlık Bölümü.This study has been brought about due to the projects carried out in our country in recent years under the name of “transformation”. We believe it is both valuable and necessary that these transformation projects, which involve individuals who take part in the academic process and who are concerned with studio education, should also be dealt with in the architectural education process. Formed out of this idea, the “architectural design studio” was conceived with the aim of enabling students to “re-think” the above concepts and, by creating various projects in this context, of increasing their “internalisation” and “awareness” of the subject. In this case study, concepts such as urban transformation, urban change and urban environment, which are the “artificial” and, unfortunately, “sterile” concepts mentioned above, are discussed with the “Galata experience” on the basis of the students’ designs.Item Cost and potential analysis of biogas in Eskisehir(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2010-12-09) Ergür, H. Sevil; Okumuş, FatihIn this study, cost analyses were prepared for biogas production in Eskisehir considering the cattle potential. Beside this, solution methods were investigated for returning the biogas product wastes as a fertilizer to the farmers in the area. Energy is accepted as an indicator of development. Development is defined with the amount of energy per man. In Turkey, 50% consumed energy is imported from different countries. Large amount of energy consumption requires new raw materials to produce energy. Due to the sources of unrenewable energy are running out rapidly and environmental pollution are very hazardous, countries were tend to renewable energy. So, the importance of biogas production was increased day by day. As a basis, biogas is obtained in air-free medium by fermentation with plant and animal wastes. It is a burnable gas mixture. Biofertilizer is more efficient than the normal one.
