Item Effect of plant density and bio–fertilizer on some morphological traits, seed yield and yield components of sunflower (Helianthus annus L.)(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2017-07-15) Fakırah, Abdo B.; Al-Thobhanı, Mansoor A. H.; Al-Aqıl, Mansour MohmedThis study was carried out at the research farm, faculty of Agriculture Sana'a University during growing seasons of 2012 and 2013. The objectives were to study the effect of two plant densities (5.55, 11.11 plant m2-1 ) and three levels of Bio-fertilizer fertilization (0, 2, 4 liter ha-1 ) and on the seeds yield, and it's components of Sunflower plant (Cultivar Euroflor). Experimental results showed variation of plant density effect on examined characters. Head seeds weight and seeds oil content (%) significantly higher with lower plant density (5.55 plant m2 ) -1 during first and second seasons, respectively, while higher plant density (11.11 plant m2 ) positively and significantly influenced on seeds oil % and seeds oil yield during 2012 season. The results showed that the 4 L ha-1 Bio-fertilizer level significantly exceeded other Bio-fertilizer concentrations (0 and 2 L ha-1 ) in its effect on seeds yield, head seeds weight, seeds number/plant, head diameter, seeds oil % and seeds oil yield during first season (2012). During second season (2013), the 4 L ha-1 Bio-fertilizer level also surpassed the other levels on each of weight of 1000 seed, leaves number/plant and seeds oil %. Significant interaction between Bio-fertilizer and plant density levels was observed on seeds oil % through first and second seasons. On other studied characters, except plant height, there were interactions only during the first season (2012).Item Effects of increasing application doses of borax and boric acid on nutrient element uptake of maize (Zea mays L.)(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2017-06-08) Çelik, Hakan; Öztüfekçi, Sencer; Turan, Murat Ali; Aşık, Barış Bülent; Katkat, A. Vahap; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme Bölümü.Effects of two boron (B) sources and increasing application doses of both sources on the dry matter yield, B and some nutrients uptake by maize (Zea mays L.) were investigated in greenhouse conditions. Increasing doses of boron (0, 2.5, 5, and 10 mg B kg-1 ) were applied to soil as borax (Na2B4O7.10H2O) and boric acid (H3BO3) and maize plants were grown for 37 days. Increasing doses of B were found statistically significant on dry matter yield, boron, phosphorus (P), and magnesium (Mg) uptake. Borax and boric acid doses elevated the B (6.52 - 5.92 mg pot-1 ) and Mg (49.73 - 49.12 mg pot-1 ) uptake of maize and the highest values observed at 10.0 mg B kg-1 dose of both borax and boric acid, respectively. Dry matter yield and the nutrient elements uptake / B uptake ratios decreased with the increasing B applications. Boron sources found statistically significant on the amounts of dry matter yield, B, P, and iron (Fe) uptake. Up taken B and P amounts were found high at Borax applications, however, dry matter yield, and Fe uptake was found higher at boric acid applications.Item Turkey’s 2017 actual wind energy appearance(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2017-07-04) İpekçioğlu, Roza Gül Bencuya; Vardar, Ali; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Biyosistem Mühendisliği Bölümü.The expansion of renewable energy sources and developments in this sector are very important for global pollution and sustainability. The world economical wind energy potential is 5 180 TWh/y and prediction is that potential will constitute 20 % of energy consumption claim at 2020. World, Wind Energy has gone a long way in terms of sector progress. In addition to this, the first step of this sector in our country was taken in 1998 with 720 MW project of ARES in Izmir. According to TÜREB 2017 Turkey Wind Energy Statistics Report, wind energy power plant is 6 106.05 MW, licensed installed power is 3 221.05 MW and wind power plant on construction is 861.63 MW. Considering the cumulative increase in installation in recent years, wind energy has gained a special importance in last 10 years of renewable sources. Considering existing investments and economic potential of 20 000 MW for our country would not be too wrong to say sector being novel established.
