Factor analysis was performed to form groups of unrelated items by gathering related items in the scale and to rank factors affecting satisfaction by their importance.Results: We suggest an eight-staged algorithm in studies aiming to increase patient satisfaction. General contents of matters that have to be dealed up in an order are: Matters that have to be dealed up include mostly outpatient clinic and clinic conditions in first stage (most important matters), time in second stage, again time related with laboratory, radiology services and bureaucratic procedures in third stage, cafeteria-services in fourth stage, finding competent in order to get information, visiting patients and quality of foods in the clinic in fifth stage, behaviours of staff in sixth stage, results of radiological and laboratory services in seventh stage and toilets and security of the hospital in the last stage.Conclusion: We present an algorithm to system managers of not gain-aimed secondary health care services in Turkey that will be useful in their studies aiming to increase patient satisfaction related with non-technical dimension of services. If conditions different from community features and present health care systems exist, there will be changes in importance sequence of components affecting patient satisfaction.Publication Family medical centre patients' attitudes toward senior medical students' participation in the examinations(Medi+world Int, 2007-01-01) Sadıkoğlu, Ganime; Sadıkoğlu, Ganime; Tıp Fakültesi; Aile Hekimliği Bölümü; FTO-3267-2022Introduction: Examination of polyclinic patients is an invaluable part in student medical education. The aim of this study is to determine the variables that affect patient satisfaction in students' visits.Methods: 185 patients who attended the Family Medicine Clinic of Uludag University participated in this study and were asked to answer the questionnaire consisting of 13 questions. Variables differed in the observed demographic data.Results: Among the patients, 92.1% pointed out that students' examinations were helpful. 84.1% of the patients felt confidence in the examination.Discussion: From this study, according to the collected data, we can say that communication between the patients of our clinic and the students, is satisfactory and therefore, we can also say that most of our patients have positive thoughts about the participation of the students in their examinations. The aim of our study is: (i) to evaluate the effect of explaining the importance of Biostatistics to medical students with the support of visual materials, sample events and, detailed information from clinicians about the place they put Biostatistics in their professional lives, to arouse the interest and curiosity of students about Biostatistics, (ii) to evaluate students first predictions about Biostatistics, and (iii) to ensure to give the importance it deserves by the implementation of new compelling educational techniques. Three methods are performed to explain the importance of Biostatistics to three different student groups in the first class in medicine faculty, to see the impact of visual material, detailed information and sample events. One week later, three questions with a five-point Likert scale are administered to the students of each group. The applied scale's Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was 0.648. The reliability level of the applied scale may be expressed as intermediate level. Significant result was found between three groups. Educators must put 'experiences and practices' to the centre of learning in lessons and should improve their techniques to show students the importance of the subject. As the educational content is enhanced, so is the importance placed on Biostatistics.
