    Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), which are originated from various industrial activities, cause threats to human health even at small concentrations. These contanıinants have different origins. HAPs can be transporteur in the atmosphere depending on their characteristics and atmospheric conditions. Therefore. the receptors even living far away from the source can also be affected from an uncontrolled cmission. In this study. information related to HAPs will be given and their effects and related legal regulations will he sunımarizcd. Then. Kocaeli-Sakarya earthquake will be briefly discussed.
