Abstract
Nesne ve olayların ontolojik statülerinin ne olduğu üzerine birçok tartışma vardır. Bu tartışmalardan rakip ontolojik kuramlar, yani nesne veya olay ontolojileri, ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu ontoloji kuramları veya ontolojiler, nesneler ve olaylar arasındaki bağıntıyı açıklamaya çalışmaktadır. Nesne ontolojileri, dünyanın nesnelerden meydana geldiğini ve metafizik bir kategori olarak olayların, nesnelerden türetilebileceğini iddia eder. Öte yandan, olay ontolojilerine göre, temel varlık kategorisi olarak olaylar, dünyanın nihai bileşenleridir. Olay ontolojileri, olayların nesnelerden önce olduğunu ve nesnelerin olaylara indirgenebileceğini iddia eder. Başka bir rakip görüşse, nesneler ve olayların temel olarak eşit ve farklı kategorilerin öğeleri olduğunu iddia eder. Bu çalışmanın amacı, nesnelerin veya olayların metafiziksel olarak temel kategori olup olmadıklarını ve rakip görüşleri açıklamaktır.
There are many disscussions on what the ontological status of objects and events is. From these disscussions, competing ontological theories, namely object or event ontologies, emerge. These ontological theories, or ontologies try to explain the relation between objects and events. Object- ontologies says that the world consists of objects and events as a metaphysical category can be derived from the objects. On the other hand, according to event ontologies, as a basic categories of existence events are the ultimate constituents of the world. Event ontologies maintain that events are prior to objects and objects can be reduced to events. Another competing view affirms that objects and events are the items of basically equal and distinct categories. The purpose of this paper is to account for whether objects or events are the metaphysically essential category and explains these competing views.
