dc.description.abstractİngiliz konsolosluk raporları özellikle kapitalist dünya ekonomisinin 19. yüzyıl başlarında Osmanlı kentleri üzerindeki etkilerini anlamada başvurulabilecek temel kaynaklardan biridir. Batı Anadolu’da yer alan eski bir başkent ve 15. yüzyıldan itibaren bir dünya ticaret merkezi olan Bursa kenti, 17. yüzyılda ticari konumunu kaybetmeye başlamıştır. 19. yüzyılda kent bu kez ipek ipliği ve koza üretim merkezi olmanın yanı sıra Avrupa malları için bir pazar haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada, İngiliz konsolosluk belgeleri temel alınarak, 19. yüzyılın ortalarından sonuna kadar ki süreçte, ipek üretimi, ihracat, ithalat ve yerel üretim sektörlerindeki gelişmeler ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.tr_TR
dc.description.abstractBritish Consular Reports are among the main archival sources to understand the effect of capitalist world economy upon the Ottoman cities at the beginning of 19th century. Bursa, located at the Western Anatolia as a former capital and an international trade center beginning from 15th century, gradually lost its economic importance beginning from 17th century. In 19th century the city flourished to be an open market for imported goods and a center of silk and cocoon. In this paper I tried to depict the developments in silk production, import, export and manufacturing during the second half of 19th century.en_US
