| dc.description.abstract | Nijerya devletinin gelişimini anlamaya yönelik hiçbir teşebbüs; demokrasi, ulus yapısı ve ulusal bütünleşmenin gelişmesine meydan okuyan temel şeylerin bir kısmı olan etnisite ve din araştırmasından kaçamaz. Devletin doğası ve oluşumu çok önemlidir ve içinde meydana gelen ilişkinin doğasının temelidir. İstikrarsız, hegemonik ve yasak bir makine ise, sıklıkla içinde her zaman oluşacak sağlıksız bir rekabetten kaynaklanan istikrarsızlık ve kaos olması eğilimi vardır. Bu tezin amacı, nijerya’daki din ve çatışma ilişkilerini göstermektir. Tez bu yüzden, Kaduna’daki etnisiteden kaynaklamam din çatışmaları ve Nijerya’daki demokrasiye yönelttiği tehdite odaklanmaktadır. Tez, Kaduna’daki etnisiteden kaynaklanan din çatışmalarının tarihini araştırmakta ve bu çatışmaların temelinde sömürgeciliğin yattığı, askerî diktatörlükle artırıldığı ve Nijerya federalizminde yerleşmiş yalanlamalarla güçlendirildiği hususunu kanıtlamaya çalışmaktadır. Bu tez, Kaduna şehrindeki Müslümanlar ile Hristiyanlar arasındaki çatışmaların köklerinin dini ya da kültürel olmadığını ileri sürmektedir. Tez, sosyal bölünmeden fayda sağlama arayışındaki politikacılar tarafından bu çatışmaların hem bölgesel ve hem de ulusal düzeyde yaratıldığı sonucuna varmaktadır. | tr_TR |
| dc.description.abstract | Any attempt to understand the development of the Nigerian state cannot escape a study of ethnicity and religion as some of the main challenges to the development of democracy, nation building and national integration. The nature and composition of the state is very important and central to the nature of the relationship that exists within it. If it is an unstable, hegemonic and illegitimate contraption, there is often the tendency of instability and chaos arising from the unhealthy rivalry that will always be built up within it. The objective of this thesis is to show the relations between religion and conflicts in Nigeria. The thesis therefore focuses on the persistent ethno-religious conflicts in Kaduna state of Nigeria and the threat it poses to democracy in Nigeria. The thesis investigates the history of ethno-religious conflicts in Kaduna and argues that the foundation of the ethno-religious conflicts was laid by colonialism, boosted by military dictatorship and strengthened by the contradictions embedded in the Nigerian federalism. The thesis argues that the roots of the conflicts between the Muslims and Christians in Kaduna state of Nigeria are not religious or cultural. The thesis concludes that the conflicts are created by the politicians both at a local and national level who seek to gain advantage from social division. | en_US |
