Abstract
Okul çağındaki bireylerin bilgi iletişim teknolojileri (BİT) kullanımı gerek öğretmenler gerekse veliler tarafından önemli bir problem olarak görülmektedir. Özellikle ergenlik öncesi dönemde bu problemin veliler tarafından nasıl algılandığının değerlendirilmesi araştırmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturmaktadır. Dolayısıyla bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrenci ebeveynlerinin çocuklarının BİT kullanımlarına yönelik tutumlarını; davranışlarını, denetimlerini ve getirdikleri sınırlamaları ortaya koyacak bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Literatür taraması yapıldıktan sonra uzman görüşü alınarak düzenlenen 30 maddenin yer aldığı ölçek formu uygun örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen iki devlet okulunda 6. ve 7. sınıflarda öğrenim gören 294 öğrenci ebeveynlerine uygulanmıştır. Analiz işlemleri sonucunda üç faktörlü ölçek yapısı oluşturulmuş (Eğitim Amaçlı Kullanımı, Denetim ve Sınırlamalar, Olumsuz Etkileri), Likert tipinde 18 maddeden oluşan ölçeğe son şekli verilmiştir. Ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısının 0,77 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra 354 öğrenci ebeveynine yönelik ikinci uygulama sonucu doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmış, yapısal eşitlik modelinde yer alan uyum indeksleri incelenerek maddelerin genel olarak kabul edilebilir ve iyi düzeyde uyum gösterdiği görülmüştür.
The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) by schoolage individuals is seen as a significant problem by both teachers and parents. Investigating parents’ perceptions of this problem particularly during the preadolescence period of their children makes the starting point of (major the rationale of) the present study-Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop a scale that will reveal the attitudes, controls and limitations of the middle school students’ parents towards their children’s use of ICT. Following a thorough review of literature and expert opinion consultation, a scale with a total of 30 items was devised. Drawn in accordance with convenient sampling procedures, 294 parents having children at 6th and 7th grades. responded to the scale. Initial analysis of the data confirmed a three-factor scale structure (Educational Use, Controls and Limitations, Negative Effects), leading to an-18-item Likert type scale as a final version. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was found to be 0.77. Subsequently, confirmatory factor analysis was performed for the parents of 354 students, and fit indices of the structural equation model were examined and it was observed that the items were generally acceptable with the good level of fit.
